In celebration of its unwavering commitment to preserving and showcasing exceptional craftsmanship, CHANEL is participating for the fourth consecutive year in the “Entrez en Matières” exhibition. This event is part of the European Artistic Crafts Days (Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art) and is scheduled to take place from April 3 to April 6, 2025, at the esteemed Musée d’Orsay in Paris. The exhibition aims to illuminate the artistry and skill inherent in various crafts, offering the public an immersive experience into the world of haute couture and artisanal excellence.

This year holds special significance as CHANEL commemorates 110 years of its Haute Couture legacy. To mark this milestone, the House will spotlight the remarkable work of its haute couture artisans through live demonstrations, providing attendees with a rare glimpse into the meticulous processes that define CHANEL’s creations. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe the creation of two haute couture silhouettes and the intricate steps involved in crafting CHANEL’s iconic jacket. This presentation not only showcases the Maison’s dedication to craftsmanship but also educates the public on the diverse métiers d’art and fashion crafts that contribute to its esteemed collections.

A highlight of the exhibition is the display of a tweed woven and a hand-embroidered plastron by Lesage, exemplifying the close collaboration between CHANEL and the resident Maisons d’art of le19M. Established by CHANEL to inspire vocations and transmit exceptional artisanal know-how, le19M brings together 700 artisans and experts across twelve resident Maisons. It also houses a multidisciplinary space open to the public, la Galerie du 19M, dedicated to celebrating and perpetuating these crafts.

In addition to CHANEL’s contributions, institutions such as L’école La Source, Lycées Marie Laurencin and Octave Feuillet, and the École des Arts Textiles will present their craftsmanship, highlighting the importance of education in preserving these artisanal skills. This collaborative effort underscores the collective commitment to safeguarding and promoting the rich heritage of artistic crafts.

Admission to the European Artistic Crafts Days is free and open to all, providing a unique opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in the world of haute couture and artisanal excellence. Attendees are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance to ensure access to this exceptional showcase of craftsmanship and creativity.

Through its participation in “Entrez en Matières,” CHANEL reaffirms its dedication to the preservation and transmission of artisanal skills, ensuring that the legacy of haute couture continues to inspire and captivate future generations.
