Converse Japan is dated for an ALL STAR LGCY HI in Gore-Tex Black on 18 September 2026. Style 31318670. The brief names it CONVERSE ALL STAR LGCY HI GORE-TEX / Black. The shop card for that exact eight-digit was not live on the official catalog at write time. Treat price, size run, and upper recipe as shop-final when the PDP opens. Sister All Star Gore-Tex highs (the Ⓡ GTX HI line) have sat near ¥20,350 tax in. Plain LGCY HI canvas opened at ¥13,200. A membrane LGCY should land between those two numbers, not at the canvas floor.
LGCY is Legacy, the 2025 flagship that put 1970s All Star marks on a current insole. Patch stitch and side stitch. One-star heel label. Notched ankle patch with a blue star on HI. Thick cloth lace. Gloss eyelets. Cotton heel loop. Aged-look toe cap and tape. New heavier outsole. Inside: PU sheet, Ortholite, sponge rubber. HI gets the pinched heel counter. That is the last Gore-Tex is being asked to weatherproof.

Chuck Taylor’s 1970s high is the ghost in this last. Not Chuck 70’s three-star heel. One star. Blue star on the ankle notch. Applique and side stitch the way vintage pairs were reinforced. Converse Japan launched LGCY on 28 February 2025 as the new house flagship: archive face, modern footbed. Black and cloud white first, then pine, pink, MoMA colors, suede OX. Indonesia on the standard canvas run.
Comfort is the argument they used to justify a new name. Three-layer insole. Pinched HI counter so the collar does not yawn. Outsole redrawn so the contour looks heavier than a skinny Chuck. None of that is Gore-Tex. All of that is what 31318670 is suppose to keep while the liner goes in.
All Star Ⓡ Gore-Tex HI already proved the membrane on a different All Star: water-repellent canvas, stretch Gore-Tex in the gusset, woven Gore-Tex label, hang tag. LGCY GTX is that idea moved onto the legacy last. If the gusset is sealed, rain at the tongue is the usual failure point they are trying to close. If it is not, the high collar still helps more than an OX.
A bossy hue is that hides wet nap and city film. A white GTX high photo cleaner and dirt faster. The brief is noir only.

18 September is a Friday. Converse Japan Fridays are official shop plus doors. Confirm converse.co.jp and the store list when 31318670 goes from code to cart. Sizes on LGCY HI have run 22 to 30 cm with a skip pattern at the top. Do not assume GTX copies that grid until the page says so.
Gore-Tex on a canvas high is not a hiking boot. Water over the collar still wins. The membrane keeps the foot drier in sideways rain and puddle splash. Breathability is the other half of the hang tag. September in Japan is still wet enough to make that tag useful.\

Weight will rise versus canvas LGCY. The Ⓡ GTX high already felt like a lined Chuck. Expect the same tax. Ortholite stack stays the comfort story if they did not strip it to fit the bootie.
Waffle rubber remains the outsole language unless the PDP shows a winter lug. LGCY’s new heavy sole was a look choice. GTX does not require a new tread. Wet tile will still ask more of the rubber than a Vibram Megagrip would.

collision on LGCY this year (MoMA, others) stayed fashion. This SKU is weather. 31318670 is the number to match so a black LGCY canvas is not sold as GTX by accident.
