SANGUE NOVO, a renowned platform for emerging talent in the fashion industry, recently graced the ModaLisboa “Capital” event with an awe-inspiring showcase of creativity. The platform, supported by Seaside, featured five innovative designers who have been pushing the boundaries of fashion with their unique design philosophies and cutting-edge aesthetics. These young talents were handpicked in October 2024 and, over the past six months, have evolved significantly under the mentorship of SANGUE NOVO’s esteemed jury.

Dri Martins, Duarte Jorge, Francisca Nabinho, Gabriel Silva Barros, and Ihanny Luquessa have each explored thought-provoking themes in their collections. From envisioning fashion as a conscious dream to dismantling gender norms, these designers have infused their work with a sense of purpose and intention. A common thread that binds their creations is the fusion of traditional techniques with modern technology, resulting in visually arresting pieces that tread the fine line between the past and the future.

Duarte Jorge’s visionary collection earned him the prestigious ModaLisboa X IED Istituto Europeo di Design Award, while Gabriel Silva Barros bagged the ModaLisboa X RDD Textiles Award for his ingenious use of textiles. As these designers showcased their work at MODALISBOA CAPITAL, it became evident that their unique perspectives and creative prowess are redefining the landscape of the fashion industry.

SANGUE NOVO’s commitment to nurturing fresh talent has been unwavering, and this edition was no exception. The designers’ collections not only captivated the audience with their bold aesthetics but also challenged the conventional norms of the fashion world. As the industry continues to evolve, platforms like SANGUE NOVO play a crucial role in shaping its future by providing a springboard for the next generation of designers.

The presence at ModaLisboa “Capital” was a testament to the platform’s dedication to fostering innovation and creativity within the fashion industry. The works of Dri Martins, Duarte Jorge, Francisca Nabinho, Gabriel Silva Barros, and Ihanny Luquessa serve as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring designers and a glimpse into the exciting future of fashion.
