Four months after A Little Vengeance, Jessie Reyez and Samara Cyn share a standalone single whose all-caps title leaves very little to the imagination.

Jessie Reyez has spent most of 2026 inside a record about settling scores. Her fourth studio album, A Little Vengeance, arrived June 12 with seventeen tracks that swing between confession and retribution, and the months since have gone into carrying it toward a headline tour. On Friday, October 9, she stepped sideways. FOR SIXXX IN THE MORNIN, a 3:54 song made with the rapper Samara Cyn, went up on stream services as a single of its own, attached to no album.

Signal. What happened: Jessie Reyez released a new song with Samara Cyn as a standalone single, separate from her June album. Exact object: FOR SIXXX IN THE MORNIN, credited to Jessie Reyez and Samara Cyn, running 3:54, with an official lyric video posted to Reyez’s own channel. When and where: out October 9, 2026, across major stream platforms. Source: the song’s official stream listicle and Reyez’s own lyric video upload. Why it matters: it pairs a Grammy-nominated Toronto songwriter, weeks out from her largest headline tour, with one of the most closely watched young rappers of the past two years, and it gives Reyez fresh material beyond the album she is about to tour.

On the record itself the work is shared close to evenly, with Reyez carrying the sung R&B passages and Cyn answering in the melodic rap register she has refined across three EPs.

The title is not coy, and the writing matches it, leaning on ripe, fruit-heavy image and blunt phys detail. Coming after an album built on heartbreak and payback, the change in temp is little impossible to miss.

Born in Toronto to Colombian parents and raised partly in Brampton, Reyez broke through with the 2016 single Figures, later certified triple platinum in Canada. She has also written for other artists and earned a first Grammy nomination with her second EP.

Samara Cyn finished a degree in supply chain management in 2021, two years after writing her first song. She was born Samara Henderson in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 1998, grew up in an army family that moved between Georgia, Texas, Hawaii and Colorado, and reached rap through flow, reading at a weekly campus open mic in Arizona before setting one of her tropes to a beat.

Her debut EP, The Drive Home, arrived in October 2024, and co-signs from Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill came after its release. Backroads landed in June 2025, the same month she was named to the XXL Freshman class of 2025, and Detour followed on March 20, 2026, with her first headline dates that May.

The single lands less than four weeks before Reyez opens the A Little Vengeance Tour, a thirteen-date North American run billed as her biggest headline outing to date. It starts November 3 in Seattle, plays Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 19 and closes November 24 in her hometown of Toronto. No supporting acts had been named as of October 12, and nothing announced so far puts Cyn on any of those stages.
