2025 NBA All-Star Player Pool: Full Roster Breakdown and New Format Explained

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game is set to showcase the league’s premier talent on February 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. This year’s event introduces a revamped format, departing from the traditional East vs. West matchup. Instead, four teams will compete in a mini-tournament, each aiming for a prize pool of $1.8 million. 

New Format Details:

•Team Selection: Three teams will be drafted by TNT analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith, serving as honorary general managers. The fourth team will comprise the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge, led by honorary GM Candace Parker.

•Tournament Structure: The four teams will compete in a series of games, each played to a target score of 40 points. The two semifinal winners will advance to the final, also played to 40 points.
