Munich retailer BSTN builds its first Salomon project around the XT-6 and a single time of day: 5 AM. The pair is scheduled for October 10.
BSTN‘s first collision with Salomon is named for a time on the clock. The Munich retailer has taken the XT-6, the trail-born model at the center of Salomon’s sportstyle rise, and called its version “5 AM,” a ref to the reticent stretch before the day begins, when the sky is still deep blue and the city has barely started. Neither side has put its name on a project with the other before, according to the reporting around the rel.

Signal. What happened: BSTN revealed its first project with Salomon, an XT-6 nicknamed “5 AM.” Exact object: the BSTN x Salomon XT-6 “5 AM,” in dark blue mesh with light blue overlays and a blue to orange insole, with price and style code not yet confirmed at the time of writing. When and where: Saturday, October 10, 2026, exclusively through BSTN. Source: release reporting dated October 6, 2026. Why it matters: it puts one of Europe’s best-known shoe retailer on the model that carried Salomon from ultra-distance racing into day wear, nine days after FP Movement put out its own first XT-6 project. Earlier: a cover of the Salomon XT-6 GORE-TEX “Blacked Out” release and the RX Slide 3.0 ATQ.

Pre-rel images show a dark blue mesh base carrying light blue overlays, a palette that reads as twilight rather than anything loud. The details sit under that restraint: an insole that moves from cool blue to warm orange, a nod to night turning into day; the words “Common Ground” running parallel to the tongue ribbon; and white zig-zag contrast stitching on the tongue.
Beneath the colors, the shoe is the XT-6 as Salomon built it. The model launched in 2013 for ultra-distance racing, turned ten in 2023, and its formula has stayed light and streamlined: a mesh upper reinforced with TPU film, a dual-density EVA midsole, a chassis system for stability, a Contagrip outsole for traction, and a Quicklace system in place of conventional laces. Salomon itself dates to 1947 and the Alpine town of Annecy, and the XT-6 is one of its most popular exports from the trail to the street.
The nickname has a history in sneakers too. Nike used “5 AM Flight” for the Kobe 10 in 2015, a colorway drawn from a clip of Kobe Bryant diving into a pool while recovering from an Achilles injury. The dive happened at 5 a.m. in August 2013, about four months before he returned to the court, and Nike has been reissuing the Kobe 10 as a Protro this year. Both pairs lean on blue, the Kobe 10 in rippling water tones and the BSTN pair in twilight shades.
flow
BSTN began in 2008 as Beastin, a graphic label started by Christian “Fu” Boszczyk and Dusan “Duki” Cvetkovic, who sold early pieces out of car trunks and at pop-ups before opening its first store in Munich’s Maxvorstadt district in 2013. A Hamburg store, in the Schanzenviertel, followed in November 2017. Boszczyk grew up in South Africa and found his footing in Munich on a local basketball court, and basketball culture still sits underneath the shop. He has described the aim as doing something “from the city, for the city.” That makes a trail runner an unexpected partner on paper.
The Munich flagship on Amalienstraße is built around a limestone footwear wall, mahogany fixtures and a fully mirrored ceiling, while Hamburg’s footwear wall is a granite blend called Wasabi.
Its union record shows where the shop’s loyalties have sat. BSTN has worked most visibly with adidas: Centennial editions for European basketball clubs, including FC Bayern Munich in 2024, and München sneakers timed to Oktoberfest in 2019, when BSTN staged an oversized family portrait with the Bavarian brewery Paulaner, and again in September 2025. The 2025 pair went on sale exclusively through BSTN’s Munich and Hamburg stores and its online shop, and BSTN is again the only outlet named for 5 AM. Its own journal also logs a steady run of partner projects under the BSTN label: Clarks and Schott NYC in October 2024, Lacoste in July 2025, and American Vintage on October 1, 2026.

Salomon’s own path into fashion ran through retail. Its Sportstyle range traces back to a 2015 project with The Broken Arm, the Paris boutique, and shops and creative hubs have kept returning to the model since. London’s Bone Sodaunveiled an XT-6 Expanse in November 2023, and NAKED Copenhagen released an exclusive XT-6 colorway in May 2025 at $190. BSTN’s 5 AM is billed as a full collect rather than an exclusive colorway.
Salomon has kept the XT-6 on a steady release rhythm all year, from Brilliant Olive in January to Maritime Blue in February, and the autumn calendar is crowded. FP Movement, the activewear label from Free People, released a limited-edition capsule, its first with Salomon, on October 1, a pink-toned XT-6 and a coral and peach XT-Whisper priced between $145 and $185 across the two models, sold through its own site and select FP Movement and Salomon stores. For ref, standard XT-6 colorways have listed between $180 and $200 at US retailers this year. BSTN’s 5 AM follows nine days after the FP Movement release, and its price had not been confirmed when this was written.
BSTN’s Munich and Hamburg stores trade Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The reporting around 5 AM names BSTN as the sole outlet without saying either that means its stores, its online shop, or both. The BSTN x Salomon XT-6 “5 AM” is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, exclusively through BSTN.
