Clarks Originals extended the Walla Eden low into weather. Walla Eden GTX in Black, Japan article CLM27893R, sits around ¥29,700 tax in on recent JP shop cards. Premium suede upper. GORE-TEX membrane. Vibram outsole. Moccasin construction kept from the Eden family. Low cut, lace-up, heel tab, decor stitch at the collar. It is not a classic crepe Wallabee. It is the slimmer urban cousin with a lug that can take rain.
Wallabee Eden was already the rugged, shoe-leaning take on the 1966 moccasin. Walla Eden Lo cut the shaft. GTX adds the liner that Wallabee GTX already proved on the rounder last. Black is the tincture that hides spray. Maple can wait for a dry week.

Gore-Tex on suede is a compromise people already accepted on Wallabee GTX. Water stays out through the membrane. Vapor is supposed to leave. The suede still darkens when it drinks surface rain. Black hides that better than maple. Nubuck would hide it better still. The release picked suede for the hand.
Vibram is the other half. Eden Lo already wore that lug before the GTX letters arrived. Traction on wet tile is the point. Crepe on a classic Wallabee is a different religion: quiet, grip in the dry, a period look. This sole is the hike version under a moccasin stitch.

Clarks sizing talk for Wallabees is usually a half size down from a generic shoe, or match your usual Wallabee. GTX liners can change volume. Try if a shop has the last. UK G width is the standard last.
Weight will sit above a plain Eden Lo. Membrane plus bootie always does. Japan try-on pieces called the low Eden lighter than a Wallabee boot and still all-day. GTX will add grams. Rain days eat those grams without complaint. Sun days will feel like extra lining.

This is a city shoe that can walk through a typhoon week without becoming a sponge. It is not a mountain boot. Shaft is low. Water over the collar still wins. Gore-Tex is not a wellie.
Black is how you wear it next to navy trousers and a coat that already got wet. The silhouette is cleaner than a Wallabee boot, closer to a suede sneaker with a serious sole. That is why JP editors reached for “new standard” language. Standard here means Tuesday rain, not a trailhead.
