Knitwear, flannel and G-1000 parkas anchor Fjällräven’s new arrivals, while an all-black Expedition collection returns for the harshest weather.
Fjällräven has rebuilt the front of its U.S. site around a campaign called Anywhere, Every Day, and the first products on display show where the season’s attention sits: a tote, three knit sweaters, a pile jacket and a single down shirt jacket. The line under the headline promises clothing for movement on the trail or on a daily commute, and the merchandise follows through. For a company that started by building backpacks for the Swedish mountains, it is a shh tilt toward the city.
Signal. What happened: Fjällräven put its Fall/Winter 2026 new arrivals live on its U.S. site under an Anywhere, Every Day campaign, and its press room announced on Sept 24, 2026 that the Expedition Black Edition is returning. Exact object: listings of 38 men’s and 46 women’s new products (some unisex items appear in both), led by the Räven Parka W at $320, the Övik Down Shirt Jacket M at $400, the Övik GTX Padded Parka at $800 and the Bergtagen Down Jacket W at $650, plus a limited Expedition Down Cropped Jkt Black Edition W at $560. When and where: live now on fjallraven.com in the United States, with other new Black Edition styles not yet confirmed on the U.S. site at the time of writing. Source: Fjällräven’s own U.S. Fall/Winter 2026 page, its men’s and women’s new arrivals list and its press room. Why it matters: the newest products are weighted toward knitwear, flannel and day parkas, which shifts the center of the range from the trail toward the city, while the Black Edition keeps the brand’s expedition identity in view. Earlier DRIFT: no earlier Driftzine piece on Fjällräven is on record, so this is the brand’s first entry.

Övik is the family that appears most often across the first two pages of the men’s new arrivals list, which runs to 38 products across three pages. The Övik Neps Knit Sweater M costs $150 in grey, beige, black and blue, and the Övik Jacquard Knit M matches that price in three colorways. The Övik Waffle Knit M, a new brown colorway of a sweater already in the range, is $175, and the Övik G-1000 Shirt LS M, a long-sleeve shirt in brown, blue and green, is $105. An Övik Neps Beanie, listed as unisex, costs $45.
The women’s listing, with 46 products, leans on the same family. There are two flannels at $110 each, the Övik Boxy Flannel Shirt W and the Övik Classic Flannel Shirt W, the Övik Solid Jacquard Knit W at $160 and the Övik Cable Knit W at $200, and an Övik Cardigan W at $200 in green, brown and beige that carries a limited-edition tag. The Övik Knit Sweater W, at $200, adds a new brown and beige colorway, the Övik Jacquard Knit W is $150, the Fjällräven Jacquard Knit W is $185, and the Kaitum Overshirt W, at $280, comes in grey, white and brown. At the heavy end, the Övik Down Shirt Jacket M is $400 in green and brown, while both the men’s and women’s Övik GTX Padded Parkas are priced at $800, the highest figure on any of the pages read.
The listings’ materials filter names down, G-1000, G-Loft Supreme, GORE-TEX, organic cloth fabric, Primaloft, Vinylon-F and wool, a fair summary of the season’s fabric palette, and the GTX in the parka’s name points to the GORE-TEXmembrane.
Across the pages read, prices run from $30 for the Vardag Beanie to $800 for the Övik GTX Padded Parka. Sweaters, shirts and fleeces mostly fall between $90 and $200, with the Kaitum Overshirt W at $280 and the Keb Fleece Hoodie W at $250 as the exceptions.
Color is where the listing gets specific. By the page’s own tallies, blue (27 products) and green (25) lead the men’s new arrivals, black follows with 24, beige has 15, purple 14, brown 10, grey 7, white 3 and red just one. The women’s side tilts toward black (30) and green (29), then blue (22), purple (19) and beige (17), with pink at three and red at two. Green and blue sit near the top of both lists, and red is nearly absent from both.

The season’s lead women’s piece is the Räven Parka W, $320, built from recycled-polyester G-1000 blended with organic cotton and featured full-width on the collection page. The Vardag G-1000 Pile Jacket W is $295, with the men’s version at the same price in brown, blue and green, and the Nuuk Pro Parka W, tagged as a season favorite, is $535, the costliest women’s item on the landing page. G-1000 runs through the Räven and Vardag pieces and back to the company’s first outerwear.
The Greenland Jacket arrived in 1968, taking its name from a Greenland expedition on which Fjällräven’s tents were being tested. The sturdy fabric it used, treated by hand with a beeswax and paraffin mix called Greenland Wax, grew into G-1000, a polyester and cotton blend that the company still builds its trousers and jackets around. A Greenland family still appears among the product filters on the women’s listing.
Flannel gets the most room on the shirt racks. The Singi Heavy Flannel Shirt M is $130 with a new colorway, the Skog Relaxed Shirt M is $130 and the Fjällglim Regular Shirt M is $125. On the women’s side the Singi Flannel Overshirt W, at $165, also carries a new colorway among its six.

The cold end of the range is handled by a separate announcement. Fjällräven’s press room posted on Sept 24, 2026 that the Expedition Black Edition is returning, framed as a tribute to the winter darkness of the Scandinavian north. The core of the collection is the classic Expedition Down Jacket and the lighter Expedition Down Lite, both in all black, and four styles are new to the line: a long Expedition Pack Down Parka, a women’s Expedition Down Cropped, an Expedition Pack Down Vest in women’s and men’s versions, and an Expedition Dog Vest for dogs.
The Swedish storefront now treats Black Edition as a full collection rather than a single jacket, and the reference point is 1974, the year Åke Nordin created the first Expedition Down Jacket. On the U.S. site, the cropped women’s version is already listed as the Expedition Down Cropped Jkt Black Edition W at $560 with a limited-edition tag, while the men’s Expedition Down Lite Jacket Black Edition M sits in the Expedition Series beside the packable Expedition Pack Down Hoodie M at $335. Pricing and U.S. listings for the remaining new Black Edition styles had not surfaced when this was written.
Bergtagen, the line the company built when it returned to the Swedish mountains for inspiration, supplies much of the technical layering. The Bergtagen Topp Down Jacket M is $750 in black and green, and the women’s version is the same price. The Bergtagen Down Jacket is $650 in both men’s and women’s versions, each in blue, black and green, and the Bergtagen 60 Insulation Jkt W is $290 with a new colorway. The Bergtagen Midlayer Half Zip is $170 and the Midlayer Hoodie is $160 for both men and women. Two Bergtagen beanies round it out, the Jacquard at $50 in three colorways and the Merino at $55 in blue and black.

The 1960 prefix, which also appears on the 1960 Logo Badge Sweater W, matches the year Nordin founded the company. The Kånken itself has its own branch in the site navigation and its own Instagram account, @kankenofficial, linked from the footer.

Nordin was born in 1936 in Örnsköldsvik, on Sweden’s High Coast, and built a wooden-framed backpack in his basement before turning the idea into a company. He founded Fjällräven there in 1960, and the name means Arctic fox. Tents, sleeping bags, jackets and trousers followed through the 1960s and 1970s, and the Expedition Down Jacket arrived in 1974. The Kånken, introduced in 1978, was designed as a school bag after heavy satchels were blamed for back problems among Swedish children, and it is now the company’s best-selling product. Since the turn of the millennium the company has added Eco-Shell, a Down Promise and a code of conduct called the Fjällräven Way, and in 2018 it revisited its first big product with a collection called Greenland Updated.
Fjällräven’s own history page names the Greenland Jacket, the Expedition Down Jacket and the Kånken as the products that defined the company’s first decades, and each has a counterpart among the new arrivals: a Greenland family filter, the Black Edition Expedition down, and the Kånken Koncept Laptop 15.
