New York in Moncler. Open air, 9 to 13 September 2026. Grand Central Vanderbilt Hall. Fifth Avenue flagship, 10 September. Largest store the brand has built. Two decades of the city in photographs.

Moncler is hanging New York in Moncler from 9 to 13 September 2026. Large photographs in communal New York sites. A dedicated close in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal. On 10 September, in the same week as New York Fashion Week, the brand opens Moncler Fifth Avenue at 767 Fifth Avenue in the General Motors Building. More than 23,000 square feet on two floors. Gilles & Boissier on the rooms. Remo Ruffini has called it the largest store in the network and a step for a U.S. market the group still describes as under-built outside the main cities.

The exhibition is not a quiet label-and-vitrine survey. It is a public hang. Alpine codes rewritten as metropolitan uniform, in the house language. The week is also a door opening a few blocks north of the terminal that already hosted the brand in 2011.

stir

Moncler called the hang one of the larger open-air public exhibitions the city has seen, and a public display of affection. Prints first, then Vanderbilt Hall. Commuters walk the pictures. Fashion week supplies the calendar.

The walls carry faces the house has already used in New York. Vittoria Ceretti in Moncler at the 2025 Met Gala, catalogued in the hang as The Red Carpet, the brand’s first night on that stair. Sarah Jessica Parker in a Moncler Genius puffer gown by Pierpaolo Piccioli, worn on And Just Like That…. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as New Yorkers in Moncler pictures. Annie Leibovitz’s 2014 fall campaign of Simon Howell on the Chrysler Building. Alicia Keys through the 2023 Moncler x Alicia Keys collection, written as swagger and hope. Spike Lee in later portraits. An Art for Love project at the New York Public Library. A frozen Lincoln Center performance staged in a polar vortex. Those titles sit beside the older show pictures.

The point of the week is density. A puffer company arguing it has a New York file thick enough to occupy a terminal hall and a Fifth Avenue floor at the same time.

show
  1. Chelsea Piers. An urban mountain. About 100 Moncler Grenoble models on scaffolding. Fashion week as a climb inside a pier shed.
  2. Grand Central main concourse. Moncler Grenoble, A Grand Groove. Etienne Russo and Villa Eugénie produced it. Choreographer Luam drilled dancers in a Brooklyn warehouse on the East River. Contemporary counts put 163 people in goggles and ski clothes, plus about 200 extras dressed as travelers, 363 bodies in the hall. Russo had wanted Times Square and could not have it after a car-bomb scare. The terminal became the only set that would hold. Dancers were pulled from Craigslist and agencies, five days of rehearsal, $150 and a jacket. The show lasted minutes. It could not be moved to another city. That is why Vanderbilt Hall in 2026 is not a random room.

  1. Wollman Rink, Central Park. Professional skaters in red, white and blue. A live orchestra of New York musicians. Ice as the runway.
  2. Hammerstein Ballroom. Moncler Grenoble fall. About 60 choristers on a multilevel structure. Swiss artists André and Michel Décosterd’s Pendulum Choir on hydraulic platforms as the living backdrop.
  3. Lincoln Center. Another Grenoble picture in the 2026 list.

Those dates are the spine. Prince Street opened in 2010 as the then-largest Moncler, Gilles & Boissier already in the chalet lang, tree trunks and carved wood. Madison Avenue took the U.S. flagship title in 2016: Spike Lee’s short Brave, Thom Browne’s wall of 28 puffers as an American flag, Christophe Charbonnel’s Tête Moncler, Bardula’s Solaris. Fifth Avenue in 2026 is the third New York scale jump, not the first time the brand has asked the city to host a room bigger than the last one.

The 2026 list also keeps the later culture frames: Keys in 2023, Ceretti on the Met stair in 2025, Parker in Piccioli’s Genius gown on television, De Niro and Pacino as local faces. The exhibition treats those as part of the same New York sentence as the pier, the rink, the ballroom, and the concourse.
end

The lease is the General Motors Building. FAO Schwarz left in 2015. Apple sat there while its cube was rebuilt. Under Armour held the site and did not finish a megastore. Moncler takes two floors after renovation. Published sizes run from just over 21,000 square feet to more than 23,000. Gilles & Boissier have the concept, the same studio that already built Moncler rooms that try to bring mountain finish into a city plan.

Ruffini’s line from earlier in the year is blunt. Opening the biggest store here is not only expansion. It is a step toward unlocking the U.S. and a commitment to that market. The group has said North America is still thinner than Asia and EMEA on awareness outside New York and a few peers. Aspen received a Grenoble shop and a snow-tour show in early 2026. New York receives the largest door and a week of pictures.

Madison at 650 and Prince Street stay on the locator. Bloomingdale’s and Bergdorf corners stay. Fifth Avenue becomes the new center of gravity. The exhibition ends at Grand Central so the last public image of the week sits in a building the brand already occupied in 2011. The store opens a short walk north on the 10th.

9 September: pictures go up in the street and in shared halls. 10 September: 767 Fifth opens. 13 September: the week of prints comes down. New York in Moncler is the title. The city is the wall. The store is the other sentence.

The 2011 stills above are the evidence base that does not need a 2026 embargo. Robert Caplin shot the concourse for the public record. The 2026 Vanderbilt plates, the Leibovitz Chrysler reprint, the Ceretti Met frame, and the Fifth Avenue interior will slot into the last two wrappers when Moncler releases full-res files. Until then the concourse is the proof the hang is not a mood board. It is a return ticket.
