Red Nun’s Legacy. Trilogy close. Acireale studio. Abandoned house on the volcano. Unreal Engine 5. Susan on the slope. October 27 on the store tiles.
Stormind Games is finishing Remothered in the same island the series already used as a setting. Antonio Cutrona, directing Red Nun’s Legacy, told interviewers the location work started around the office. The main villa, he said, comes from an abandoned house in the Etna area. The studio sits in Acireale, Catania province. That is not a mood-board Sicily. That is a drive.
The game is the third chapter and the close of the main trilogy. Store pages date it 27 October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. Stormind publishes. Soft Source is named for Asia. Characters originate with Chris Darril’s earlier Remothered. This entry is credited as proceeding without his involvement. Akira Yamaoka on the score. Cissy Jones as Susan. Maggie Robertson as the Red Nun.
Plot lingo on the official page: more than a year after girls vanish in Sicily, a recording sends Susan to a decaying Ashmann residence on Etna’s slope. Search, stalkers, symbols, moths, mirrors, retrocognition. Cristo Morente convent as the myth’s cradle. The series has always used family harm and obsession as subject matter. This file does not replay those scenes.
Signal. What happened: Stormind is putting a real Etna-area villa lang into the last Remothered. Exact product: Red Nun’s Legacy, UE5, 27 Oct. When and where: Stormind site and storefronts. Source: Stormind game page. Why it matters: the island is no longer only a caption.
stir
Cutrona’s point in the published conversation is hue. Sicilian villas are not only black stone and mold. Roman, Greek, Baroque, Renaissance fragments sit in the same walk. The team, he said, did not lock one century. They took what mattered and put it everywhere. Other Italian reports name reference houses (Villa Patti in Caltagirone, Palazzo Biscari, Valguarnera-Gangi) as a blend, not a photocopy. Believe the blend. A one-to-one tourist map would be a different game.
Etna is still an active volcano. An abandoned villa on its slope is a real typology, not a gothic sticker. UE5 is how that volume gets lit. Lighting will decide if the island looks like a postcard or like a house that had owners.
Acireale as the office town matters because the commute to the reference is short. That shortness is the “roots” claim. It can still fail if the interior is generic survival-horror corridor. The scouting only works if the rooms keep the mixed centuries.
flow
Two earlier Remothered games built the Red Nun as an antagonist the audience already knows. A third chapter that is also an origin is a structural risk. New players get a missing-daughter hook. Old players get the convent file. Both have to fit in one house.
Mechanics listed: stealth, perception, hypnosis, environmental manipulation, moths, mirrors. Clock Tower is the long shadow. Argento is the other. Without Darril in the room the series either becomes Stormind’s object or a cover version. October will sort that.
Physical deluxe editions for PS5 and Switch 2 are listed through Maximum Entertainment in some rundowns. Confirm the SKU when preorders lock.
show
Giallo, in the cheap export sense, is gloves and color gels. In the local sense it is Italian genre cinema (Argento, Bava, Fulci) as a grammar Stormind can walk to. Cutrona calling the scouting a loop around the office is the least romantic version of that grammar. No flight to Rome for a soundstage version of the south.
Neo-giallo on a Steam page is a tag. Neo-giallo on Etna is a villa with the wrong century on the facade. If the game only uses the tag, the roots sentence is marketing. If the rooms keep the mixed plaster, the sentence holds.
