Master Control Chronometre. Date at 38 mm and 8.4 mm. QP and power reserve at 39 mm and 9.2 mm. COSC plus HPG. Steel Date listed near $14,200. Gold is another floor.

Jaeger-LeCoultre used Watches and Wonders 2026 to hang a metal bracelet on Master Control and rename the chapter Chronometre. Three watches share the grammar. Date. Date Power Reserve. Perpetual Calendar. Steel and pink gold on most cards. The Date case is 38 mm across and 8.4 mm thick. The other two are 39 mm and 9.2 mm. Fifty meters of water. A three-row tapered bracelet that matches the case metal. Butterfly clasp. Link facets the maison ties to Dauphine hands. In-house automatics at 4 Hz, 70 hours of reserve. COSC so the word Chronometre is legal. A new house stamp, HPG (High Precision Guarantee), on the back, sold as the successor to 1000 Hours Control for this line.

Steel Date Q4158120 has circulated near $14,200 before tax. Pink gold Date Q415216J near $52,500. Perpetual calendar launch tags in Europe sat near €39,500 steel and €72,500 gold. Movements: calibre 899 in the Date, 738 in the power-reserve Date, 868 in the QP. Silicon escape and pallet on the Date. Sold through JLC boutiques, not a web raffle.

The strategy sentence attached to the line is wrist time. More hours the watch stays on. More reasons to buy a second complication without learning a new case. A longer relationship than a strap that comes off on Friday. The bracelet is the hardware that is supposed to collect those hours.

Signal. What happened: JLC launched Master Control Chronometre as an integrated family. Exact product: three functions, two metals, COSC and HPG. When and where: Watches and Wonders 2026, boutiques after. Source: JLC introducing Master Control Chronometre. Why it matters: the name that lived on leather is now built to survive a week on steel. Earlier DRIFT: none on this chapter.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Perpetual Calendar Watch

new

Master Control spent years as a round, tested dress watch. The Chronometre chapter keeps the testing myth and changes the contact with skin. End links integrate and invert so lug-to-lug does not pick up a false extra millimeter. The bracelet tapers in the first links. Micro-adjust sits on a clasp that is still thin. Inner plates on steel and gold are not screwed the same way. That is a bench difference. Photo the clasp before you assume the metals wear identically.

Dials: blue-grey gradient, bronze sunburst, depending on metal and function. Applied indexes. No lume on the published Date sheet. Date window on the simple watch. A second register when reserve is shown. Moon and long calendar on the QP. Jérôme Lambert’s on-wrist point was the case dropping quickly at the end so 39 mm can still sit on a smaller arm. 8.4 versus 9.2 mm is a millimeter most people will not quote and some wrists will feel.

Calibre 899 is the everyday engine. 738 is the new date-and-reserve pairing, finished in the kit with Côtes de Genève, perlage, bevels. 868 carries the perpetual. All wind themselves. All claim 70 hours. All beat 28,800. Fifty meters means rain and a sink, not a bezel. If the brief is a tool watch, this catalog is the wrong aisle.

Master Mariner Chronometre in the early 1970s is the house ancestor for an integrated or near-integrated try. This 2026 line is the serious second attempt: full integration, two diameters, three functions, a new seal.

Wrist time is hours worn, not hours owned. A leather Master Control lives in a box from Friday night. An integrated bracelet is supposed to stay through the weekend and still look like the same watch on Monday. More hours on the arm means the automatic stays wound, the brand stays view, the owner waits longer before shopping another integrated sport piece.

The second aim is a ladder inside one face. Steel Date as the first buy. Power reserve as the next complication without a new sil. Perpetual as the long calendar in the same bracelet lang. The client is not asked to learn a new case every time the function grows.

The third aim is duration. HPG on the back is a sentence a boutique can still say in 2031. 1000 Hours Control was the last sentence. Whether the new test is harder is a lab question. On the counter it is a fresh engrave that implies the watch was built to be used, not rotated.

None of it holds if the bracelet bites or the 38 mm still reads as a dress leftover that put on metal. The bet is taper plus 8.4 mm plus a dropped case end. Comfort is the only metric that produces days. Comfort is not in the PDF. It is whether the clasp disappears after an hour.

mutable

COSC is outside the manufacture. HPG is inside it. Together they justify the word on the dial. Silicon in the Date’s escape is the part that is supposed to age slower. Seventy hours is the Friday-to-Monday gap. The old 1000 Hours story was six weeks, six positions. HPG is marketed as tighter. Look at the caseback. No stamp, different watch.

Price is the other filter. Fourteen thousand in steel Date is the number meant to look like a considered daily. Fifty-two thousand in gold Date is a different drawer. The spread is intentional. Steel is the hours collector. Gold is the metal that takes the light in a lookbook.

fin

Boutiques hold the stock. There is no app drop. Try the steel Date first. It is the watch that has to prove wrist time. The QP proves the manufacture can still build a calendar. Those are different proofs.

Master Control Chronometre. Bracelet on a name that used to mean strap. COSC. HPG. Three functions. Two thicknesses. Days on the wrist as the claim they will keep using until someone counts them.
