Three weeks out from Halloween, That Mexican OT and 1900Rugrat land their first official collision a single named for the monster parents use to keep kids in line.

The official video for “Boogie Man” went live on October 9 with a ticket link already pinned near the top of its YouTube description, pointing fans toward something billed as the CUCUY Haunted House. That one line explains the timing. In June, That Mexican OT announced Cucuy as his next album, named for the bogeyman figure of Tejano folklore that grandparents invoke to get children into bed. “Boogie Man” is, more or less, that album title translated into English and handed to a guest from South Florida, 1900Rugrat.

Signal. What happened: That Mexican OT and 1900Rugrat rel “Boogie Man,” a joint single with an official music video. Exact object: “Boogie Man,” a three-minute, six-second track credited on Spotify to That Mexican OT with 1900Rugrat, issued through his label home at Capitol Records. When and where: October 9, 2026, on all major stream services, with the official video on YouTube. Source: the official video listing, the streaming credits and OT’s own announcement posts. Why it matters: it pairs a Texas rapper with a platinum breakout behind him and one of Florida’s fastest-rising freestylers, and its title lines up squarely with the monster theme of OT’s still-unreleased Cucuy.

OT takes the first verse and Rugrat follows once the groove has settled, both riding a slow, bass-heavy trap beat instead of racing it. The lyrics stay fixed on being the person other people warn their friends about, a natural thesis for a song named after a monster. Streaming credits list Rugrat as a co-lead rather than a feature, though some rel roundups have billed it the other way.

Born Virgil René Gazca in Bay City, Texas, roughly 90 minutes southwest of Houston, That Mexican OT (the initials stand for Outta Texas) built his sound out of Houston slab rap, chopped-and-screwed tempos and the norteño and Tejano records he grew up around. His 2023 breakout, “Johnny Dang” with Paul Wall and DRODi, has since gone platinum, and “02.02.99,” titled after his birthday, reached No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024. Last year brought the album Recess, and 2026 has been a steady run of singles including “Need That,” “Still Virgil,” “La Cumbia De Virgil” and “Water.”

1900Rugrat, born Miles Spiel in 2003, came up in Limestone Creek, a small community at the northern edge of Palm Beach County, and built an audience by posting freestyles over whatever beat caught his ear. “One Take Freestyle” went viral in late 2024 and has since been certified gold. A remix with Kodak Black followed in January 2025, the Porch 2 the Pent mixtape arrived that February, and two albums, Big Ah Kidz and Fireman, have landed since.

The pair  also lines up on paper. OT was part of the 2024 XXL Freshman class and Rugrat made the 2025 list, which makes “Boogie Man” a meeting of consecutive classes from two Southern states with very different accents. Cucuy still has no announced date. For now, the closest thing to a preview is a song named for its monster and a haunted house that shares its name.
