atmos has confirmed atmoscon 2026 for October 31 and November 1 in Shinjuku, expanding the sneaker convention once again into music, sports and art.

Tokyo sneaker retailer atmos has locked in the dates for atmoscon 2026, its annual convention, confirming it will run October 31 and November 1 at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building’s Sankaku Hiroba plaza in west Shinjuku. This year’s edition carries the tagline Playground for Next Generations, a theme illustrator NAKAKI PANTZ, who created the event’s key view, has described as an attempt to show fashion, music and street culture all growing out of a shared sneaker root, blending into one continuous scene rather than staying in separate lanes.

That framing matters more than it might first appear. atmoscon has never been a straightforward trade show floor, and this year’s language leans further into the idea of an experience built to be moved through rather than simply browsed. The venue itself splits the event across two levels: a first floor main area built around exhibitor booths, and a basement level Sumitomo Hall reserved for a dedicated live music stage, ticketed separately from general admission.

Confirming the dates this early also gives atmos more runway than usual to build anticipation. Past editions have tended to firm up venue and date details only a few months out, with fuller programming, exhibitor reveals and merchandise details trickling in closer to the event itself. Locking the calendar down in early August, nearly three months ahead of doors opening, suggests atmos is treating 2026 less as a one off comeback and more as the start of a recurring fixture on Tokyo’s fashion calendar.

atmoscon began in 2016 as a considerably smaller affair, drawing about 600 people to its first edition in Harajuku, the Tokyo neighborhood where atmos itself opened its original store back in 2000. Attendance climbed steadily through the following years, reaching roughly 4,700 visitors in a single day by its seventh edition in 2019, before the pandemic forced a multi year pause. atmos brought the convention back in April 2025 to mark its own 25th anniversary, staging that comeback edition at the same Shinjuku Sumitomo Building venue it returns to this year, and pulling its largest crowd yet in the process.

Along the way, atmos has also been shh rehearsing for bigger event production outside its own branded convention, including organizing adidasCon in both 2023 and 2024. That experience appears to have fed directly into how atmoscon has evolved: what started as a single day showcase built almost entirely around sneaker releases now stretches across two days and folds in live performances, sports programming and art installations alongside the shoes.

The exhibitor list atmos has published so far reads like a cross section of the sneaker and sportswear world rather than a narrow sneaker only lineup. Confirmed booths include BAPE, adidas, ASICS Sportstyle, Converse, Crocs, HOKA, Jordan Brand, New Balance, New Era, Nike, On, Salomon, Saucony and Vans, alongside outdoor focused names like Birkenstock, Keen and Merrell that signal atmos is pulling in trail and lifestyle categories, not just basketball and running silhouettes. Esports organization Crazy Raccoon is also listed among exhibitors, one more sign of how far the event has drifted from a single category focus.

Running in parallel is atmos pink Lab, a dedicated space presented by the brand’s womenswear arm, atmos pink, built around customization stations where visitors can personalize keychains, socks and caps rather than simply shop finished product. Brands confirmed for that space include Crocs, FILA, PUMA and ’47.

The mix says something about where atmos sees its own audience heading. A convention that opened in 2016 leaning almost entirely on basketball and running silhouettes now sits comfortably alongside outdoor sandal and trail brands, a customization focused womenswear space, and a gaming organization’s booth, all under one roof and one ticket. That breadth is very much the point behind this year’s Playground framing: atmos is betting that the people who show up for limited sneaker drops are increasingly the same people who want a live set, a customization workshop or a look at what an esports team is wearing, rather than three separate audiences that happen to overlap.

Tickets for atmoscon 2026 are sold through Lawson Ticket, with atmos running a tiered pricing structure that rewards buying early: prices rise in stages as the event date approaches, and earlier sales windows close once their allotted ticket count sells out, according to the event’s own published FAQ. Options span single day admission, single day admission with early entry, and two day passes, with live stage access sold as its own add on rather than bundled automatically into general admission. Same day tickets will also be available at the venue reception for single day and live stage admission, though not for early entry or two day passes, and only while supplies last.

Entry to the first floor main area is free for anyone of high school age or younger, though purchasing limited items with purchase restrictions still requires a valid ticket and government issued photo identification for that age group, and alcohol sales are restricted under Japanese law to guests twenty and older regardless of ticket type. atmos has said further programming details, including the live stage lineup and specific limited releases planned for the weekend, will roll out on the event’s official Instagram account in the weeks leading up to the show.

For a brand that opened its first Harajuku storefront twenty six years ago on the strength of imported shoes most of Tokyo hadn’t seen yet, growing a single day pop up into a two day, multi floor culture event is its own kind of full circle. atmoscon 2026 runs October 31 and November 1 at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building.
