VN000XUFBKA black, VN000XUFF0G bordeaux. GORE-TEX, insulated, All-Trac. Japan 13 October, ¥24,200. US page $180.
The shoe on Vans is the Half Cab GORE-TEX Insulated, filed under MTE. VN000XUFBKA is Black / Black, listed at $180. VN000XUFF0G is Bordeaux / Black, same construction, same US ticket on shop pages. Japan calendars put both on sale 13 October 2026 at Vans dealers, ¥24,200 including tax, with a Billy’s preorder on each code.
The product text says the Half Cab was released in 1988 and set a skate standard. This version adds a GORE-TEX waterproof bootie, insulation, and an All-Trac outsole. Steve Caballero labels stay. Lace-up, padded collar, cushion footbed, suede upper. A Japan note adds a rubber toe cap, a thick sole, and metal lace hooks. Black is black through the sole, with white stitch and a GORE-TEX mark. Bordeaux keeps a black sole.
Signal. What happened: Vans listed an insulated GORE-TEX Half Cab in two hue, dated 13 October in Japan. Exact product: VN000XUFBKA Black/Black, VN000XUFF0G Bordeaux/Black. When and where: Japan dealers 13 October 2026, ¥24,200. US page already shows the black at $180. Source: Vans product page and Japan rel notes. Why it matters: Caballero’s mid, weatherized, without a collab name.

mid
Steve Caballero’s first Vans pro shoe was a low. The Half Cab is the mid that followed, a padded collar stopping below the ankle, a side stripe, a lace row that could take a metal hook at the top. Skate histories put that mid in 1992. The current Vans page says 1988. Both lines are in print. The shoe in front of you is the later weatherized cut, not a reissue argument.
MTE is the Vans name for shoes built past a dry park: a membrane, a heavier sole, a collar that holds heat. GORE-TEX here is described as waterproof and breathable. Insulation is a separate line, for cold, not just rain. All-Trac is the outsole compound, multi-surface grip. The upper is suede. The toe cap is rubber on the Japan description, which is how a Half Cab already looked. Metal hooks at the top eyelets are the boot cue.
Black / Black is the all-over pair. Bordeaux / Black is the wine upper on a black sole and foxing. White stitch is called out on the black pair as the line that shows the panels. A GORE-TEX logo is on the shoe, not only on the hangtag.

$180 is the US page. ¥24,200 is the Japan page, tax in, 13 October, Vans stockists, Billy’s taking a preorder on both codes. Those are not the same number run through one exchange rate. They are two retail tickets. A Palace GORE-TEX Half Cab exists in the back catalog. This pair does not carry that name.
13 October is the Japan day. The US page is already up for the black. Bordeaux is the second code. The collar is still a Half Cab collar. The new part is the bootie and the fill.
