The toe line stays razor clean while everything behind it turns to long-pile fur. Converse Japan’s newest POINTEDTOE model arrives October 16 at ¥11,000.

Nothing at the front of this shoe has been softened. The narrow, pump-like toe that Converse brought to the ALL STAR in June carries straight over to the newest POINTEDTOE rel. What changed is everything behind it. The whole upper is now covered in long-pile polyester fur, the laces are gone, and the result is a low-top slip-on that looks plush from the heel forward and precise at the tip.

Signal. What happened: Converse Japan announced a fur-covered, laceless addition to its POINTEDTOE line on October 8, billed as a seasonal model for fall and winter. Exact object: the ALL STAR POINTEDTOE VOLUMEFUR SLIP OX, in Wolf Brown (style number 31319190) and Black (31319191), with a polyester upper, a rubber outsole, Indonesian manufacture, a price of ¥11,000 including tax and women’s sizing from 22.0 to 26.0 centimeters. When and where: Friday, October 16, 2026, through the Converse Official Online Shop and Converse stockists in Japan.  Why it matters: it adds a slip-on to a line that began four months ago with two canvas models, and at ¥11,000 it is the highest-priced model on Converse Japan’s POINTEDTOE listing.

The announcement came from Converse Japan at 11:00 a.m. Japan time on October 8, eight days before sales open. In it, the company describes the fur as long-haired and covering the upper entirely, and it files the shoe as a seasonal model. Product pages for both colorways were already live that day, each tagged coming soon, and the release names only two sales channels: Converse’s own online shop and its stockists, with no exclusive retailer attached.

stir

Converse describes the design as a play on contrast, the depth of the fur set against the clean line of the toe. The slip construction is the practical half of that idea. With no shoelaces to manage, the shoe goes on and comes off in one motion, a convenience Converse calls out on the product page. Underneath the pile, the build is straightforward: a polyester upper over a rubber outsole. Converse’s material listing names polyester as the sole upper material, so the fur here is a synthetic pile rather than animal fur. In Converse’s naming, OX means low-top and SLIP means the lace-free build.

Two colorways are on offer. Wolf Brown is the one with visual range. Converse points to an uneven, nuanced hue the way a pelt shifts tone from patch to patch, so the upper never reads as a single flat shade. Black is the plainer option, a one-color treatment that leaves the texture to do all the work. Each comes in nine half sizes, listed as numeric sizes 3 through 7.5 and covering 22.0 to 26.0 centimeters, the same span the line’s listing page shows across its other models.

flow

The line is younger than its range suggests. Converse Japan launched it on June 19 with a high-top and a low-top in canvas, each at ¥8,800. The canvas OX came in black, white, classic red and a black monochrome, with a glossy finish on the sole tape that Converse says adds refinement, while the high-top carried the first three of those colors, so the all-black version was exclusive to the low-top. At launch, Converse tied the pointed toe to a plain observation: sneakers are now worn through every part of the day, and some wearers want the sharper foot shape of a pump without giving up an All Star.

Since then the range has grown quickly. Converse Japan’s own listing now carries 15 products across six models. Three of the additions are low-top variations on the base OX: a PA OX in black and red and a GL OX in black and red-brown, both at ¥10,450, and a VELVET OX in black and white at ¥10,780. Each keeps the pointed toe, and every model on the page is a women’s model. The fur slip continues the pattern at the top of the scale: at ¥11,000 including tax, it sits ¥2,200 above the canvas OX and ¥220 above the VELVET OX.

show

Converse traces its origins to a rubber-shoe maker founded in 1908 in Malden, Massachusetts, and the ALL STAR followed in 1917. It left basketball courts for everyday fashion long ago, and Converse Japan is currently redrawing its outline in more than one way. Its page for the line states the aim as a pump-sharp foot that still carries the ALL STAR’s universal appeal. Its online shop also lists a SQUARETOE OX in blue and brown at ¥12,650 among the new ALL STAR arrivals, so the toe box is being reshaped from two directions at once. The shop files the fur slip under its core ALL STAR series, which it describes as the basic standard model, rather than under a specialty tier such as ALL STAR COUPE, its dressier cupsole line.

fin

The fur slip is labeled a seasonal model, and the timing fits: October 16 lands as Japan’s fall and winter wardrobe settles in. Converse says the volume of the material adds a bold accent at the foot and brings some glamour and playfulness to cold-weather style. Nothing in Converse Japan’s materials attaches a convincer, a co-brand or a limited-run label to the release, so it is a standard seasonal model, sold through the brand’s own shop and its stockists.

Sales open on Friday, October 16, exactly 17 weeks after the first pair in the line went on sale on June 19.
