DRIFT

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the renowned rapper and entrepreneur, has secured a 30-year lease on Shreveport, Louisiana’s Stageworks Building with the intention of turning it into a cutting-edge sports and entertainment venue. This move further solidifies his commitment to the region, following a successful leasing of a film and television studio in the same city.

The Green Light from Shreveport City Council

On March 25, the Shreveport City Council unanimously approved the lease agreement during a pivotal meeting. The agreement entails a 30-year lease with an option for an additional 15 years, at a nominal rent of just $200 per month. In return, 50 Cent’s G-Unit Films & Television will assume responsibility for all maintenance and operational expenses.

50 Cent’s Vision for Stageworks

With a plan to refurbish the 77,000-square-foot space, 50 Cent aims to create a versatile venue capable of hosting a wide array of events. The upgraded facility will accommodate amateur and professional basketball and volleyball leagues and tournaments, boxing and mixed martial arts matches, seminars, conventions, car exhibitions, concerts, and general business meetings.

Boosting Shreveport’s Economy

This ambitious project is expected to significantly boost Shreveport’s economy by attracting diverse events and visitors to the area. As 50 Cent continues to expand his business empire, this latest endeavor highlights his commitment to investing in local communities and fostering economic growth.

Intention

50 Cent’s transformation of the Stageworks Building into a premier sports and entertainment hub will undoubtedly breathe new life into Shreveport’s events scene. This visionary venture showcases the rapper’s entrepreneurial prowess, as he leverages his industry clout and business acumen to create opportunities for the local community and the entertainment world at large.
