In the wake of the record-breaking success of Greta Gerwig’s acclaimed Barbie movie, a new book titled “Barbie(TM): The World Tour” offers an exclusive glimpse into the fashion and creativity that defined the film’s press tour. Authored by Margot Robbie and her stylist Andrew Mukamal, with photographs by Craig McDean, this book is a celebration of Barbie’s iconic style and its influence on high fashion.

A Fashion Journey

The book chronicles the journey of Margot Robbie and Andrew Mukamal as they embarked on a global press tour, showcasing some of Barbie’s most iconic outfits. The duo curated a collection of vintage pieces and collaborated with renowned designers like Giorgio Armani and Donatella Versace to create life-sized versions of Barbie’s wardrobe. Although the official press tour was cut short, the book captures these stunning looks in their full glory, with McDean’s photography bringing each ensemble to life.

The book features original Barbie dolls from various eras, rare materials from Mattel’s archives, and designers’ sketches and Polaroids from fittings. With a foreword by Edward Enninful and an introduction by Margaret Zhang, the book situates Barbie within the broader context of fashion history. Greta Gerwig’s afterword reflects on the cultural impact of Barbie and the film, highlighting the doll’s role in shaping imaginations for over65 years.
