BOSTON PATCH WORK. Taupe, mink, mocha. ¥36,300. 12 September 2026, 12:30. Two 50ths on one clog.
BEAMS and BEAMS BOY put a BIRKENSTOCK Boston in three suedes and call it PATCH WORK. Japan sale is 12 September 2026 from 12:30 on beams.co.jp, plus BEAMS and BEAMS BOY doors. Ticket ¥36,300. Sizes 35 to 46. 35 to 38 sit with BEAMS BOY. Codes circulating: 13-33-0193-271 and 13330193271. Confirm the string on the orange box.
Both houses are in a 50th year. BEAMS opened in Harajuku in 1976. Boston launched in 1976 as a closed-toe clog on the cork-latex footbed. The special order treats that coincidence as the brief. Dual logos on the insole. BEAMS orange carton. Made in Germany. Leather upper and lining. EVA outsole under the usual Boston platform.
This is not the Bone Pattern series. Bone Pattern stamped the outsole graphic onto the upper. PATCH WORK cuts three house suedes and sews them askew. Different joke. Same partners.

Boston is the closed mule that made Birkenstock a street last as much as a garden last. Cork-latex bed. Raised sidewall. No heel strap. You slide in. The 2026 standard Boston still sells on that sentence. PATCH WORK keeps the last and changes only the hide map.
BEAMS has been pulling special-order Bostons for years. Anniversary math made this one louder. Dual 50th is the press line. The object is still a clog you wear with wool. Footbed breaks in the usual way. Suede will mark. That mark is the point of three colors. A single-tone Boston hides the crease. This one will show a taupe panel next to a mocha crease and look more expensive for it, or more wrecked. Both readings are available.
Orange box is BEAMS hardware. Insole stamp is the only interior branding that matters. If a pair arrives in a brown Birkenstock carton with no BEAMS mark on the bed, it is not this SKU.

Taupe, mink, mocha. Three Birkenstock browns, not a carnival print. Asymmetric: left and right do not mirror. Crazy pattern in the Japanese copy means the seams wander on purpose. Craft is the claim. A panel edge that does not line up is the design, not a defect. Photograph both feet. One still of the medial will lie.
Suede naps catch light at different angles. Wear will pull the three tones closer. That is expected. Oil and rain will darken mocha first. Treat it like any suede Boston. The footbed does not care what the upper is pieced from.

12:30 Saturday on the official shop is the Japan online hour. Store stock splits by size: smaller run through BEAMS BOY, larger through BEAMS. Popular lengths in a 50th clog go early. ¥36,300 is above a plain suede Boston. The tax buys the piecing, the stamp, and the orange lid.
