A rooftop at the Plaza, a scene-stealing Samoyed, and a brand Kelce has loved since tenth grade converge in Tommy Hilfiger’s biggest new campaign.
This spring, a Tommy Hilfiger crew of about a dozen, photographer, lighting technicians, stylists, and assistants, spent an afternoon on a terrace at The Plaza Hotel working around Travis Kelce, and around a large white Samoyed who had no interest in staying out of frame. Kelce and wife Taylor Swift have kept the dog largely out of public view since bringing her home earlier this year, but she ended up written into Tommy Hilfiger‘s fall 2026 campaign anyway, propped against Kelce’s knee on a striped lounger, tucked under his arm, trail him through the hotel’s corridors for a change of scene. Hilfiger’s creative team had reportedly been debating either to cast a dog for the shoot at all when Kelce volunteered his own. It worked. “She lights up my day,” Kelce told Vogue when the magazine asked about his new co-star, in an interview tied to the campaign’s September 1 rollout.

The Samoyed had already made one low-key public appearance in July, spotted with the couple at a Palm Beach airport a little more than a week after their wedding, but her professional debut and her name stayed under wraps until the Hilfiger images went live. Even now, neither Kelce, Swift, nor the brand has confirmed what she’s called, despite an unverified name circulating elsewhere.
length
Tommy Hilfiger named Kelce the brand’s global ambassador and creative collab back in March, describing a multi-season partner rather than a single ad buy. The fall 2026 campaign, titled Only in New York and shot by Lachlan Bailey at the Plaza, is the first real installment. A bigger swing comes in spring 2027, a capsule collection co-designed with Kelce that reworks Hilfiger’s Prep Made Current identity, built around the tincture mixing and oversized sil already familiar from his game day tunnel walks.
The Plaza wasn’t picked at random. Hilfiger himself lived there with his wife, Dee, for more than a decade, and set his newest ambassador loose in the same lobby ties the brand’s own New York origin story to Kelce’s. The partner arrive at a moment when major fashion houses are increase will to hand a global ambassador title to an athlete rather than a traditional model or actor, bet that a built-in fan base translate more direct into sales and impression than a runway resume does. It also puts Kelce alongside a roster of past Hilfiger faces that includes Rafael Nadal, Gigi Hadid, Lewis Hamilton, and Zendaya, each brought in to carry the brand’s Americana identity toward a different audience: Hamilton anchoring a longtime TommyXLewis collaboration line, Zendaya representing the brand’s younger fashion set, and Nadal fronting Hilfiger’s sport-leaning campaigns for years before either of them signed on. With Kelce, the appeal is specific. “He wears preppy with a twist,” Hilfiger has said of the pairing.
For Kelce, the connection predates the contract by two decades. He’s told multiple outlets he started asking his mother to buy him the brand’s Sailing Gear jackets as a tenth grader, drawn to a mix of confident tailor and the label’s red, white, and blue palette years before anyone outside Cleveland Heights knew his name.
The brand itself has been sold that same red, white, and blue confidence since 1985, when Hilfiger launch his namesake label after an earlier run with a store called People’s Place. It went public in 1992 and became part of PVH in 2010, and along the way built the kind of durable, logo-forward Americana that made it a natural fit for a new gen of athlete look for a label with actual history behind it rather than a fresh startup with no story to tell.
rely
Hilfiger’s own relationship with sport and street culture goes back to the 1990s, when rappers including Grand Puba, Snoop Dogg, and Raekwon helped turn the label’s oversized rugby shirts and crest logo into a hip hop staple almost by accident. Kelce’s ambassadorship reads as a modern version of the same trade, a famous, magnetic wear doing more for the brand’s relevance than any single ad could on its own, in an era where a campaign lives or dies on how much of itself gets clipped, reposted, and argued about online rather than on how it looks in a magazine spread.
The fall lineup built around Kelce leans classic rather than experimental, an embroidered logo hoodie, a wool-blend cable knit turtleneck, and a relaxed wool-blend coat, all cut from the brand’s usual playbook with just enough of Kelce’s own scale and color sense worked in. It’s already live for shopping and pre-order alongside the campaign images.
The rest of the Only in New York cast reads less like a standard fashion lineup and more like a cross-section of whoever currently defines culture across a few different lanes at once. Gigi Hadid, who fronted her own TommyxGigi collection for the brand back in 2015, returns as a recurring face. Blackpink’s Jisoo, already a Hilfiger ambassador in her own right, joins DJ and producer Peggy Gou, tennis player Frances Tiafoe, and retired NBA star Carmelo Anthony rounding out a group that spans sport, music, and pop stardom in roughly equal measure, the kind of cast built to travel across platforms and countries rather than sell to one audience alone.

arrive
Kelce traces his own style back to childhood, watching athletes as closely as he watched fashion. He’s cited the basketball sneakers of his youth, Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature cleats, and Wayne Gretzky’s late 1990s Nike partnership as early touchstones, along with Deion Sanders, who he’s singled out for the sheer confidence of his show on and off the field. He describe himself as something of a style chameleon, borrowing pieces from wherever he finds them and reassemble them different depending on where he’s headed.
That range has shown up across his public life since Swift entered the picture, an Amiri disco suit, a palm tree print Celine cardigan, a Gucci bucket hat that briefly became its own news cycle. It carried over into his hosting turn on Saturday Night Live in March 2023, and into the tunnel walk fits that have made him a fixture of NFL style coverage well before Hilfiger came calling.
pace
Kelce’s path to this moment runs through more than a decade in the league. Drafted out of the University of Cincinnati in 2013, he’s since been named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team and set the record for most consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards by a tight end, at seven straight, a run that helped make the position itself more central to how offenses are built around the league. Off the field, he co-founded Tight End University, an offseason gathering for the league’s tight ends that has become one of the more visible player-run ventures in the sport, alongside New Heights and the assorted television and hosting work that made him a recognizable name well beyond Chiefs Kingdom before Swift, or Hilfiger, ever entered the conversation. That existing platform, built entirely outside of any fashion house, is very likely a large part of what made him worth a multi-season ambassador deal rather than a single campaign. Brands courting athletes now tend to look past highlight reels toward exactly this kind of built-in audience, one that already tunes in weekly regardless of what he’s wearing.
straddle
Kelce and Swift went public with their relationship in the fall of 2023 and married this July in a reported twenty million dollar wedding. The Samoyed’s arrival, and now her modeling debut, slots into a year that has pulled Kelce’s personal life almost as far into public view as his football career already was, not a small feat given that Swift remains one of the most photo and closely covered public figures in the world, on the strength of a career built long before the two of them ever met. Kelce has said Swift’s own approach to get dress mirror his own, unafraid of pattern or bold tincture, and recognize herself whether she’s out for a casual dinner or dressed for an event. Patrick Mahomes and ESPN’s Pat McAfee both attend the wed at Madison Square Garden, with McAfee later report that Mahomes, still working back from knee surgery, spent part of the night on the dance floor anyway.
His brother Jason retire from jure this year and joined ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, though the two continue to co-host New Heights, the podcast they launch together in September 2022. Wondery acquire the show for a report one hundred million dollars in August, one more sign of how far the Kelce name now extends beyond the football calendar, and one more reason a fashion house chasing cultural reach beyond the box score would land specific on Travis rather than on a player known only for what happens on Sundays.
strive
The timing of Kelce’s fashion turn lines up with a specific moment for his team. The Kansas City Chiefs miss the playoff last season for the first time since 2014 after quarterback Patrick Mahomes tore the ACL in his left knee during a Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, ending Kansas City’s season three game early and closing out a 6-11 finish, the franchise’s worst record of the Mahomes era by a wide margin. Mahomes has spent the offseason rehab and says he’s aim to be ready for the Chiefs’ September 14 opener against the Denver Broncos, a division rival that won the AFC West outright during Kansas City’s playoff-less stretch last winter, though his Week 1 status remained unresolved as of this writing.
Kelce is enter his fourteenth season with the franchise, an eleven-time Pro Bowler still chase what he’s called a genuine perfect game despite three Super Bowl titles already on his resume, from the 2020, 2023, and 2024 seasons. He’s said getting Mahomes back healthy and wiping the slate clean is what has him fired up for this particular year in particular, more than the ring count already sitting behind him. Golf remains his preferred outlet for that same competitive streak in the offseason, less a hobby than a private, ongoing argument with himself about how close to perfect he can actual get, on a course instead of a field.

hum
The Hilfiger relationship looks likely to keep unfolding in public through the fall. In an Instagram post congratulate Kelce and Swift on their wed, Hilfiger hinted that his newest ambassador could turn up at the brand’s New York Fashion Week show at the Plaza on September 10, a return to the same building where the fall campaign was shot months earlier, though nothing has been confirmed on Kelce’s side. A Fashion Week appearance would mark his first, and a fairly unmistakable signal that the ambassador title is meant to be a view, ongoing role rather than a one-off campaign credit.
For now, the campaign itself is the clearest evidence yet of how completely Kelce’s off-field identity has folded into his on-field one. A hoodie and a turtleneck are selling alongside the season’s opening football schedule. A childhood memory of borrow sailing jacket has become an actual product line bear his input. And a dog who was never supposed to be the star of anything is now sitting for a national ad campaign, either she planned on it or not. If the Fashion Week appear material on the 10th, it will close the loop on a campaign that started with Kelce simply showing up to a photo shoot with his own dog in tow, and end up rewriting how serious the league’s biggest names are taken off the field entirely.
