LEGO has officially unveiled the latest addition to its Architecture series: the Trevi Fountain (set number 21062). This set is a detailed homage to Rome’s iconic Baroque masterpiece and is scheduled for release on March 1, 2025.

Set Details and Features

The Trevi Fountain set comprises 1,880 pieces, offering builders an intricate and rewarding experience. The completed model stands approximately 10 inches (25 cm) high and 15 inches (38 cm) wide, making it a substantial display piece for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

This updated version surpasses the previous Trevi Fountain set (21020) from 2014, which contained 731 pieces. The new model boasts enhanced details, including:

  • Minifigure Statues: Unlike its predecessor, which utilized microfigures, this set features standard minifigures to represent the statues of Oceanus and his accompanying Tritons, adding a layer of authenticity and detail.
  • Architectural Elements: The façade of the Palazzo Poli is meticulously recreated with classical architectural features such as columns, arches, and statues, capturing the grandeur of the original fountain.
  • Water Effects: Translucent blue LEGO pieces simulate the cascading water, enhancing the visual appeal and realism of the fountain.
  • Natural Rock Formations: The base incorporates rocky structures, reflecting the natural elements present in the actual fountain.
  • Street Lamps: Two black street lamps flank the front of the model, adding to the set’s authenticity and charm.

Historical Significance

The Trevi Fountain, or “Fontana di Trevi,” is the largest fountain in Rome and a quintessential example of Baroque art. Designed by Nicola Salvi, its construction spanned 30 years and was completed in 1762 by sculptor Pietro Bracci, 11 years after Salvi’s death. Carved from travertine stone, the fountain has been immortalized in numerous films, including Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.” Today, over 250 years later, the 49-meter-wide fountain continues to attract thousands of visitors daily to the small Trevi square.
