U2010 4CJ Black/Green is slated for 18 September 2026 in Japan. Style U20104CJ. Segmented ABZORB, 2000s runner last, a color that is not another grey.
New Balance keeps issuing the 2010 as if the last were a season, not a one-off. U20104CJ, called Black/Green in the Japan calendar, is scheduled for Friday 18 September 2026. Official product pages for this exact pair were still thin when the date landed. The last is not thin. The last has been public since summer 2025.
ABZORB 2010 was sold as a new style with a familiar mouth. Segmented ABZORB sole unit, the kind that sat under 2000s favorites, scaled up so the midsole became the face. ABZORB through the length. ABZORB SBS at heel and forefoot. Translucent TPU Stability Web at midfoot. Sculpted midsole walls. Reflective hits. A molded N. Mesh with nubuck and synthetic overlays on most pairs. Pigskin on some Japan builds.
The 2010 is not a Made in USA 990. It is the high-volume cousin that borrowed the family face and the 2000s runner stack and put both on a price and a factory the 99x line does not use. That is why the tincture list got long so fast. Kith, WTAPS, atmos Wasabi, DTLR Carbon, Heron Blue, Sea Salt, canvas browns for autumn. Black/Green is another ticket in that queue. 18 September is the Japan morning attached to this ticket.

stir
Boston spent years letting 2002, 1906, 1000, and 9060 hold the chunky conversation. The 2010 arrived as if someone had asked for a 2000s trainer that still read as New Balance when you hid the tongue. Diamond-knit mesh on early pairs. Stability web you can see. Pods in the heel that look like they remember a track shoe even when the wearer is standing in a convenience store.
Japan treated it as a new staple almost immediately. Select shops put it next to 1906R and 2002R. Women bought the chunk when the palette stayed quiet. Collision gave it olive suede and neon pods. General releases gave it cement and salt and murdered black. The last proved it could take a mood.
U20104CJ does not need to invent a new midsole to matter. It needs to use the midsole that already exists and refuse another grey. Black/Green is that refusal, at least in the name. Until studio stills are official, the pair is a code and a contrast. The architecture is known. The paint job is scheduled.
theme
Black on a 2010 is a floor. It hides the chunk until light hits the TPU. Green is the argument. It can sit in the N, in a pod, in a suede overlay, in a lace. Other 2010 greens have already tested the idea. WTAPS went dusty olive with a neon ABZORB hit. atmos wrote 山葵 on an insole. Pastel green went soft and almost sweet. Black/Green, as a title, wants the dark base and the living accent in one breath.
September 18 is a Friday. Japan official and the usual partners are the expected doors when New Balance dates a U2010. Yen on neighboring 2010 colorways has often sat at 22,000 tax in. This code does not yet carry a confirmed ticket. The date does.
What the 2010 always sells, regardless of paint, is a midsole you look at. Full-length ABZORB is not a hidden bag. SBS pods are punctuation. The Stability Web is a window. Black will make those windows either disappear or glow, depending on how much green reaches the sole. That is the only suspense left in a last this documented.

Eighteen months after debut, the 2010 is no longer a surprise profile. It is a calendar. U20104CJ is a Friday on that calendar. Black floor. Green mouth. Same stack that made the model a staple. The pair lands when autumn starts asking for a darker runner that is not another 2002R grey.
