IW7003-600. Challenge Red, Metallic Silver, black. Panthers on the heel tab, CAU on the tongue. Yardrunners, Holiday 2026. $190 reported.

The code is IW7003-600. Nike Air Max 97, Yardrunners, Clark Atlanta University. List print the shoe as Challenge Red / Metallic Silver-Black. The heel tab reads Panthers. The tongue carry a CAU stamp. Gradient waves run the side in red over black, a grey lace, a small white Swoosh on the midfoot, a white edge around the tongue. Reported retail is $190. Report window is Holiday 2026, the end of the year in the brief. A SNKRS hour is not posted. A Japan day is not posted. Nike had not confirmed the pair when the calendars went up in late September and early October.

Signal. What happened: a Clark Atlanta Air Max 97 surfaced inside Nike’s Yardrunners HBCU program, style IW7003-600. Exact product: Air Max 97, Challenge Red / Metallic Silver-Black, Panthers tab, CAU tongue stamp. When and where: Holiday 2026 on rel calendars, through Nike and possibly campus retail. Price: $190 reported, not confirmed. Source: product-code list, 28 September to 3 October 2026. Why it matters: the 2025 Yardrunners sat on the Air Max 95. This year the train-line shoe takes the school tincture, with four other HBCUs named beside it.

stir

Clark Atlanta sits in southwest Atlanta, one school in the Atlanta University Center with Morehouse, Spelman, and Morris Brown. The university as it exists now dates to 1988, the merger of Clark College and Atlanta University. Clark College opened in 1869. Atlanta University opened in 1865, among the first institutions in the United States to offer graduate work to Black students. The mascot is the Panther. The shade are red and black. A silver third on a shoe is a Nike metal, not a third school color. The listings treat it as the reflective line the 97 already owns.

Yardrunners is Nike’s HBCU program, school marks on lifestyle and performance shapes rather than one championship pair. In 2025 the shoe was the Air Max 95. Reported schools that year included Spelman, Morehouse, Norfolk State, and Florida A&M. Spelman and Morehouse are the neighbors. Putting Clark Atlanta on the next model keeps the cluster and adds campuses outside Atlanta. The 2026 lists name five on the 97: Clark Atlanta, North Carolina A&T, Tuskegee, Coppin State, and Mississippi Valley State. CAU is the red pair. A&T is listed in Sail, Varsity Maize, and Sport Royal. Coppin State in Global Blue, Midwest Gold, and Blue Void. Mississippi Valley State in Court Green, Light Crimson, and black. Tuskegee as White / Topaz-Brickhouse-Black, code IW7004-100 on one list. Same reported price, unisex sizing, same holiday window.

The CAU build is the one with pictures. Black leather at the base. Red waves along the bullet-train panels. Metallic silver as the third. Grey laces. White on the small Swoosh and on the leather around the tongue. Panthers in type on the pull tab, not a full animal graphic. CAU stamped on the tongue. No player name. No conference patch described. That is the school sentence.

flow

Christian Tresser’s Air Max 97 reached shops in 1997. The side panels quote the lines of a Japanese shinkansen. Full-length visible Air sits in the midsole, the first Nike runner to run the bag the whole length of the shoe. Reflective piping, a narrow lace row, a heel that reads as a tail light. The 30th anniversary is 2027. Laceless and Silver Bullet returns have been previewed on their own. The Yardrunners pair is being slotted for the holiday before that year, a school object on the same last, not the silver reprise.

The wave is the reason the 97 fits a red-and-black school better than a blocked runner would. Color can travel the existing lines instead of sitting in a panel. Challenge Red is Nike’s name for the scarlet. Metallic Silver is the piping. Black is the ground. Grey lace keeps the eye on the tab. A white Swoosh is small on purpose. The mascot word does the identifying.

Last year’s 95 had a different job. Layered mudguards, a visible Air unit only in the heel and forefoot, a shape already used for college packs. Moving to the 97 changes the silhouette without changing the program. Five schools, one last, one price on the calendars. CAU is simply the pair that leaked first.

fwd

Holiday 2026 is the date on the later calendars. A late-September note pushed the same code toward 2027, beside the anniversary. Both cannot be the drop day. Nike had not confirmed either. Japan listings repeat the end-of-2026 window and mark the domestic day unknown. $190 is printed as retail on more than one calendar and still flagged, on others, as unconfirmed. Unisex sizing is part of the same unconfirmed block.

sum

Until a SNKRS card exists, the pair is a code, a tint, and a tab. IW7003-600. Challenge Red, Metallic Silver, black. Panthers. Clark Atlanta. End of 2026, if the holiday list holds. The other four schools are the rest of the reported set, not a second story.
