The “Shotime” Seiko Prospex had officially arrived On April 24, 2026, as the Seiko launched two stunning limited-edition watches in its Prospex Diver’s 1965 Heritage collection, created in collection with Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. These pieces celebrate his extraordinary achievements, particularly his MVP legacy and back-to-back World Series titles with the Dodgers.
Seiko released two references:
SBDC222 (gray/silver dial with vertical striping)
SBDC224 (vibrant Dodgers blue dial)
Each is strictly limited to 1,700 pieces worldwide—a direct nod to Ohtani’s iconic jersey number 17. They are Japan Domestic Market (JDM) exclusives, available initially through Seiko Global Brand Core Shops and select authorized dealers in Japan.
The blue-dial SBDC224 captures the energy of the Dodgers’ home uniforms with its rich blue face and gold accents. The gray SBDC222 offers a more understated, visiting-uniform vibe with its textured silver dial. Both feature gold-plated elements that evoke the prestigious MLB logo patch awarded to MVP winners.

Bezel: Blue insert with gold accents.

Bracelet: Stainless steel with Ohtani’s etched signature on the clasp, plus a six-stage micro-adjustment (expands up to 15mm for comfort over a jersey or suit).

Ohtani’s 2025 season included a career-high 55 home runs, 14 pitching appearances, a second consecutive World Series title with the Dodgers, and his fourth unanimous MVP award. These watches honor that dominance and his journey from Nippon Professional Baseball to MLB superstardom.
This marks Seiko’s latest (and reportedly third) Ohtani collection, following earlier Prospex pieces. Note that Ohtani has also partnered with Grand Seiko globally.

Enthusiasts praise the thoughtful details, wearable size, and strong movement. Some collectors compare the blue variant favorably to iconic “Bluesy” divers. As Japan-only limited editions, they’re challenging for international buyers—secondary market prices have climbed, with some listings exceeding $2,000–$2,500.
If you’re a Dodgers fan, Seiko collector, or admirer of Ohtani’s “Shotime” magic, these represent a rare intersection of horology and baseball excellence. They embody resilience, precision, and forward momentum—values that define both the athlete and the Prospex line.
With only 1,700 of each produced, these are destined to become sought-after pieces in Ohtani’s growing legacy. Whether on the wrist at Dodger Stadium or in a collection, they capture a moment in sports and watchmaking history.
