Bruce Springsteen, the iconic American singer-songwriter, has announced the forthcoming release of “Tracks II: The Lost Albums,” a comprehensive box set featuring seven previously unreleased albums. Scheduled for release on June 27, 2025, this collection encompasses 83 songs recorded between 1983 and 2018, with 74 tracks that have never been publicly heard before.

Springsteen revealed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he took the opportunity to complete and compile these albums, some of which had been fully mixed but remained unreleased. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”

The seven albums included in this box set are:

  1. LA Garage Sessions ’83: A collection of 18 tracks recorded in Springsteen’s Los Angeles home studio in early 1983, bridging the sound between “Nebraska” (1982) and “Born in the U.S.A.” (1984).
  2. Faithless: Originally intended as a soundtrack for an unproduced film, this album showcases cinematic landscapes and storytelling.
  3. Somewhere North of Nashville: A country-tinged exploration reflecting Springsteen’s ventures into the genre.
  4. Inyo: A concept album rooted in borderland tales, offering narratives set against the backdrop of the American Southwest.
  5. Twilight Hours: An orchestral, noir-influenced project that delves into atmospheric and introspective themes.
  6. Streets of Philadelphia Sessions: Featuring material from the sessions that produced his Academy Award-winning song “Streets of Philadelphia,” this album incorporates a hip-hop influence.
  7. Perfect World: The most recent of the collection, recorded in 2018, reflecting Springsteen’s continued evolution as an artist.

To give fans a preview, the song “Rain in the River” from “Perfect World” has been released. This track features the signature style of the E Street Band and offers insight into the depth of the upcoming collection.

The box set will be available in multiple formats, including a 9-LP vinyl collection and a 7-CD set. Additionally, a condensed version titled “Lost and Found: Selections From The Lost Albums,” featuring 20 selected tracks, will be released in double vinyl or CD formats. Accompanying the music is a 100-page hardcover book containing rare and previously unseen photographs, liner notes by critic Erik Flannigan, and an introduction by Springsteen himself.

This release follows Springsteen’s 1998 compilation “Tracks,” which featured 66 unreleased songs, and his 2022 album “Only the Strong Survive,” a collection of soul covers. Fans can anticipate a deep dive into Springsteen’s creative evolution with this extensive archival release.
