Pre-order from 2 October, noon. Tachikoma tees, a collage sleeve, a Sorayama blouson, a poster. Presented by DIME. Daytona Park and Shogakukan.
The order window opened at 12:00 on Friday, 2 October 2026. FREAK’S STORE, the select shop run by Daytona International, is taking pre-orders on a special set with the TV anime Ghost in the Shell, presented by DIME, Shogakukan’s business magazine. Two doors: the shop’s own online store, Daytona Park, and Shogakukan’s store at lifetunes-mall.jp. The press note says the product images are still under supervision. Design and spec can change.
Signal. What happened: FREAK’S STORE opened pre-order on Ghost in the Shell special items, presented by DIME. Exact goods: Tachikoma graphic tees, a scene tee, a collage long sleeve, a cyberbrain hoodie, a cyborg-back parka, a Hajime Sorayama blouson, a poster. When and where: 2 October 2026, 12:00, Daytona Park and Shogakukan Hyakkaten. Source: Daytona International press via Fashion Trend and DIME, 2 October 2026. Why it matters: a 1986 American-life select shop, in its 40th year, printing a 1989 cyberpunk manga’s TV frames onto a neck jack.

stir
Daytona International’s own line is short. The wish was to bring American plenty, and the thrill of it, to Japan. The first FREAK’S STORE opened in October 1986 in Koga, Ibaraki, not in Shibuya. The company was incorporated in April 1990. Harajuku came in 1996, the tenth year, and that shop is what turned a north-Kanto store into a national one. Headquarters moved to Harajuku in 2003, the same year the Shibuya flagship opened. Online arrived in 2006, with a ZOZOTOWN door the same year. Kansai, Kyushu, and Chugoku followed in 2013. Tohoku in 2016, the thirtieth year.
Masahiro Takahashi is the president and CEO named on the 2 October rel. The address on the company page is Jingumae 3-25-15, Shibuya. The group also runs CAHLUMN, Freada, Firsthand, and PUBLUX, plus a house brand of housing, a film desk, a coworking room, and a renewable-power project. The select shop is still the base. A freak, in the shop’s own sentence, is a person who actively enjoys a life. Clothes, culture, art, whatever the staff actually rate.
2026 is the fortieth year. The first overseas door is set for Taipei on 6 November. A Gap Japan capsule already landed in September, built off the 1980s and 1990s archive the staff used to buy on American trips. The Ghost in the Shell set is a different kind of anniversary object. Not a replay of what they used to import. A print job with a publisher and a magazine in the middle.
three
DIME planned and developed the goods with the anime and the shop. Shogakukan’s release is explicit about that. The magazine had already run a feature on the TV series. The collab is the feature turned into cotton. FREAK’S STORE supplies the garment shape and the select-shop counter. The anime supplies the frames. DIME supplies the exclusive cuts: a sticker Tachikoma tee, a collage long sleeve, a cyborg parka. The press calls those DIME-limited.
The property is Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in the Shell, the manga that began in 1989, Major Motoko Kusanagi, Public Security Section 9, the Tachikoma think-tanks, a cyberbrain you jack into. Mamoru Oshii’s 1995 film is the picture most people outside Japan still mean. This drop is tied to the TV anime titled THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, the one DIME featured, not to a new manga edition. The graphics are scene stills, a second key visual, a sticker treatment of the tank, a collage of prosthetic and cyberized parts.
Every tee carries the same small mark at the back of the neck: a cyberbrain connection jack. That is the only detail that is not a front print. A collide tee usually stops at the chest. This one puts the fiction on the place a label sits.
The Tachikoma tees are the opening set. Sticker spec and a hue change. All of them ¥6,996. One is the tinctured second key view. One is the sticker Tachikoma, marked DIME only. A scene-shot tee, a named frame from the series, is the same ¥6,996. The long sleeve rebuilds prosthetic and cyberized parts as a collage, ¥7,997, also DIME only.
The hoodie puts a cyberbrain graphic across the back, ¥9,900. A separate parka, Cyborg PK, uses a back print of a prosthetic body seen from behind, DIME only. The blouson is the name that is not from the animation desk. Hajime Sorayama, the Japanese artist whose robot women became an international picture, drew the logo used on this series. Front and back on a blouson. The poster, ¥1,980, pairs the sticker Tachikoma with a cyberized Kusanagi and the word CYBERBRAIN. A back collage built around the ghost controller, the device from the story, is list at ¥17,996. That figure is the odd one in the price ladder. It sits with the blouson notes in the same release, and the images are still marked as unfinished. Do not treat the yen on that line as locked until the page stops saying supervision.
No size run is in the press note. No ship date past the pre-order open. No store-floor list beyond the two online doors.

why
Ghost in the Shell goods usually come from the figure and hobby side. A 1/7 Kusanagi based on the manga’s first-volume cover is already on a 2026 calendar from Good Smile Company, a different object, a different buyer. FREAK’S STORE is not in that trade. The shop’s history is American sportswear, vintage buying trips, a Gap capsule in the anniversary year. Putting Section 9 on a tee is a publisher project wearing the shop’s label.
The fit is narrower than it looks. Shirow’s world is bodies, machines, and a city that already looks like a catalog. Sorayama on the blouson is the bridge the release actually names: an artist who spent a career on the beauty of a machine body, asked to put a logo on a jacket. The Tachikoma sticker tee is the joke. A think-tank drawn like a decal, color swapped, sold at a select shop that once defined itself by what it brought back from America.
Pre-order is the status. Not a floor drop. 12:00, 2 October, two sites. The jack at the neck is the detail that will still be there if the front print changes in supervision.
