XLG RUNNER 2.0 FOS, listed in Japan as LA7034, Black/Orange. Same 2026 window as Adistar XLG 2.0 HQ7468. Mesh, RPU cage, Adiprene in the heel.

adidas Originals spent 2026 selling volume in the Adistar and XLG lines. The pair Japan writes as XLG RUNNER 2.0 FOS “Black/Orange,” article LA7034, sits in that pile. Public store cards in Europe and the U.S. more often print Adistar XLG 2.0 in Core Black / Solar Orange / Footwear White as HQ7468. rel windows cluster from late 2025 into February 2026. U.S. tickets on HQ7468 sat near $150. Japan print on related Adistar XLG 2.0 colorways hit ¥19,800. LA7034 itself has no clean adidas.com product card yet.

What is view is the last. Extra large. Early-2000s runner proportions blown out. Mesh base. Molded RPU cage. Three stripes as black bars. Solar orange overlays that follow the cage like a second skin. Adiprene under the heel. Rubber outsole. Reflective hits. Rounded laces. Unisex run.

XLG is the house word for oversized. Runner Deluxe and Adistar XLG share that word. China and some Asia listings print FOS on the XLG Runner, a light-armor tag for the cage-on-mesh look. Japan’s LA7034 line follows that naming. The Adistar XLG 2.0 that retailers actually photographed in black and solar orange is HQ7468. Related cards include HQ7554 and HQ7555 in other palettes. XLG Runner Deluxe exists as its own SKU set, JR9632 in Wonder Beige among them, with suede overlays and a Dreamstrike midsole on some 2.0 Deluxe cards.

The 2.0 update is the cage and the midsole stack, not a new name invented for one season. Breathable textile and mesh. Molded RPU for the adaptive wrap. Padded tongue and collar. Lace closure. Cushioned footbed. Adiprene in the heel to take the first hit and roll the foot forward. Lightweight rubber for traction. Journeys, Zalando, Finish Line, and adidas.jp all describe that stack with small wording changes. None of them need a marathon claim. This is a lifestyle last that borrowed a running family’s silhouette.

The Adistar line already had a first XLG. 2.0 thickens the heel extension and cleans the lace from rope toward oval. The orange colorway is the one people compared, on sight, to Pharrell’s Adistar Jellyfish blocking: white or black ground, high-voltage orange structure, black stripes. The Jellyfish was limited. This pair is the open catalog version of that blocking.

Solar orange is the subject. It sits on the molded cage, not as a side hit. Black three stripes cut through it. Black laces. Black heel branding. White mesh on the HQ7468 photos lets the orange read as flame over air. A true black-upper LA7034, if that is what Japan ships, would flip the ratio: dark ground, orange structure, same bars. Until adidas.jp posts that still, the public evidence is the white-mesh HQ7468 plate.

Fit notes from wearers of the XLG Runner family: the shoe looks huge and does not always wear huge. Some testers stay true to size. Wide feet often go a half size up because the forefoot can feel pointed under the cage. That is a last issue, not a color issue.

2026 also put Pokémon on Adistar XLG 2.0 later in the year. That is a different story. Black and solar orange is the plain industrial colorway: archive run, extra volume, one hot panel.

adidas.com and adidas.jp remain the pages that will settle either LA7034 is a unique black-upper FOS or a local code for HQ7468. Until that card is public, the pair you can see is mesh, cage, Adiprene, and solar orange cutting the black bars.
