Ja Morant, the dynamic Memphis Grizzlies point guard, continues to make significant strides both on and off the court. Following the successful launch of his first signature shoe, the Nike Ja 1, in 2023, Morant and Nike have introduced the Nike Ja 2, which debuted in September 2024. This second iteration has been well-received, with various colorways released and more anticipated in the coming months.

One of the most exciting upcoming releases is the Nike Ja 2 “Kool-Aid” collaboration. This partnership between Morant and the iconic beverage brand brings a vibrant and playful design to the sneaker world. The “Kool-Aid” colorway is set to feature a Bright Crimson upper, complemented by accents of Flat Silver, Hyper Pink, Black, and Photo Blue, encapsulating the fun and energetic spirit associated with Kool-Aid. The collaboration is expected to drop in May 2025, with a retail price of $130.

Morant himself has been actively promoting this collaboration. He recently shared images of the sample versions of the Nike Ja 2 “Kool-Aid” on his Instagram story, generating buzz among fans and sneaker enthusiasts. This proactive approach to sharing upcoming releases indicates Morant’s deep involvement in the design and marketing processes of his signature line.

In addition to the “Kool-Aid” connect the Nike Ja 2 lineup includes several other notable colorways:

•“Iron Grey”: Featuring a sleek Iron Grey upper with Light Bone, Bright Crimson, and Cobalt Bliss accents, this colorway is scheduled for release on January 1, 2025.

•“Twelve Time”: This edition boasts a Light Lemon Twist base with Total Orange, Light Army, and Cargo Khaki details, set to launch on January 2, 2025.

•“Heart Eyes”: A Valentine’s Day-inspired design, it comes in Magic Ember with Iron Grey, Pink Foam, Deep Night, Black, and Hyper Pink accents, releasing on February 7, 2025.

•Swarovski x Nike Ja 2: A premium collaboration featuring a Black and Multi-Color scheme, adorned with Swarovski crystals, limited to 1,999 pairs, and set for release on February 14, 2025, at $550.

These releases highlight the versatility and broad appeal of the Nike Ja 2, catering to various tastes and preferences within the sneaker community.

Looking ahead, Nike and Morant are already planning the next chapter in their partnership. Reports indicate that the Nike Ja 3 is slated for a Fall 2025 release, with the first colorway, “NY vs. NY,” expected to debut on July 22, 2025. While specific design details remain under wraps, it’s anticipated that the Ja 3 will continue the low-cut, performance-driven design ethos that has characterized Morant’s signature line.

Ja Morant’s connect with Nike continues to flourish, with the upcoming “Kool-Aid” edition of the Nike Ja 2 standing out as a particularly exciting release. As Morant’s influence in the basketball world grows, so too does the anticipation for each new addition to his signature sneaker line.
