Puma pushes its 2000s track sil toward the trailhead with the H-Street WTR II, out at overseas dealers this September in two new colorways.
The H-Street didn’t start on a sidewalk. Its lineage traces back to the Harambee, a Puma run spike from the late 1990s built for actual sprinter, its name borrow from the Swahili phrase for pull together as a team. In 2003, Puma took that spike’s sharpen, T-shaped toe and stripped-down profile off the track entire and built it as a lifestyle shoe, trade spike for a thin EVA midsole and keep the racing sil intact. It found an audience in the years that follow among people who wanted the look of a track shoe without ever running a lap in one, then largely disappear from shelves as sneaker trend move elsewhere.
The model sat dormant for years before Puma pull it back out of the archive. The H-Street OG official launch on June 28, 2025, with three colorways (Black, Fizzy Green, and Frosted Ivory) after a preview event in Seoul that May. “It’s another icon from our archive that showcases Puma’s rich heritage,” said Christina Mirabelli, Puma’s Director of Sportstyle Market, at the time. Since then the form has barely slow down, spin off into Strap, Premium, Ballet, Luster, and Politics editions across 2025 and 2026, each keep the same track-spike shape while swap closure, material, and colorway season to season.
That momentum carry into 2026 with a dedicate campaign front by Rosé, shot on shh suburban streets and built around three new colorways centered on neon green, neon pink, and black. Streetwear label Slam Jam put its own spin on the shoe that same period, run silver and gold through the mesh and leather for a limit holiday rel. Across all of it, the shape stay constant: the low profile, the T-shaped toe, the race-day proportion borrow straight from a shoe that was never meant to leave the track.

One of those offshoots is H-Street Winterized, Puma’s own shorthand for which is WTR. The first WTR arrive for the 2025 cold-weather season in Loden Green and Gray Echo, both pair with black, add a suede tongue and a geometric print across the upper while keep the same low, thin-soled base as the original. It was a relative modest seasonal update: same shape, warm material, a print swap in for the mesh panels.
The WTR II pushes that seasonal update further into hiking territory, and it’s part of a wider pattern across sneaker retail right now, where 2000s track and run contour keep getting reworked with outdoor hardware borrow from hiking boots rather than anything from their own archives. Where the first WTR mostly change material and print, the sequel rework the lace sys itself: a tincture tape threads through a round cord and a metal D-ring, a detail lift more or less direct from hiking boots. The upper mixes leather with textile panel and gets a brush finish for a softer look, while a wide side panel is laser-punch to expose the curve of the foam strip underneath it. The sole stays thin and black, which keeps the shoe reading as a low-profile shoe rather than tip over into bulkier boot territory the way a lot of hiking-inspired sneaker do once they start adding lug outsoles and ankle collars.
That restraint seems deliberate. Plenty of brands have taken a 2000s run or track shape and bury it under waterproof membranes, aggressive tread, and toggle lace until the original sil is bare view. The WTR II keeps its changes largely above the midsole: new lacing hardware, a new upper treatment, and a punched panel, with the same flat, minimal base the H-Street has had since 2003.

Two colorways make up the WTR II launch. Magic Rose leans into warm tones: a yellowish tan base, deep brown layered across the toe and tongue, and a hit of dusty pink worked in as an accent. Blue Guppy goes cooler, pairing a soft birch beige with a pale, washed-out blue. Both versions carry the same foam strip, shoelace loop, and tonal in-color detailing across the brushed material, which keeps either colorway from reading as too loud despite the hiking hardware.

Both names have history within the H-Street line, if not necessarily on this exact shoe. Puma has used Magic Rose on earlier H-Street kids’ colorways, and Blue Guppy already exists as a pairing on the standard, non-Winterized H-Street. Whether the WTR II versions share exact formulas with those releases isn’t confirm, but the reuse fits how Puma has generally handled the H-Street family: a rotate cast of names apply across whichever sub-line is current in season, more like a share paint chart than a set of one-off exclusive.

The H-Street WTR II is set to arrive at Puma dealer oversea in September 2026. Specific release dates, pricing, and style codes for the two colorways were not avail on Puma’s own storefronts as of this write. For context, the rest of the H-Street family has generally priced between $85 and $100 depending on the sub-line, with the first Winterized landing at $90; nothing confirms the WTR II will match that range, so it’s offered here only as a rough benchmark, not a quoted price. The construction and colorway detail above come from a Japan market rel notice rather than Puma’s own product page, and should be treated as un-confirm until Puma’s own listicle go live.
