- Artist: Lola Young (born Lola Emily Mary Young, January 4, 2001, South London)
- Release Date: May 22, 2026
- Label: Island Records
- Genre: Alternative pop / soulful singer-songwriter with raw, confessional lyrics
- Context: This follows her 2025 album I’m Only F**king Myself and continues her streak of emotionally direct, unfiltered music exploring mental health, relationships, self-sabotage, and personal growth.
The title “From Down Here” fits Lola’s signature style — honest, grounded, and often speaking from a place of struggle or introspection (similar to tracks like “Messy,” her ADHD anthem, or songs dealing with depression and messy emotions).

flow
Lola Young has built a strong following with her raspy, soulful voice and brutally honest songwriting. She’s spoken openly about ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, relationships, and self-discovery. Her previous hits like “Messy” (a massive viral track) and “One Thing” show her ability to blend vulnerability with catchy, raw energy.
“From Down Here” appears to be another deeply personal release, continuing the themes from her recent album cycle.
