Marvel’s Wolverine just received a stunning new gameplay reveal at the latest State of Play, and pre-orders are officially live. Developed by Insomniac Games — the studio behind the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man series and Ratchet & Clank — this highly anticipated title brings Logan’s ferocious world to the PlayStation 5 in a brutal, single-player action-adventure experience.
The seven-minute gameplay showcase was everything fans hoped for: visceral claw combat, Rage mode takedowns, and a personal story involving a certain red-haired telepath. Set in the same universe as Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, Marvel’s Wolverine promises deep narrative storytelling, intense melee action, and exploration across multiple locations.
Here’s your complete pre-order guide covering every edition, what’s included, pricing, and whether that fancy Collector’s Edition actually exists.
flow
Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. There is currently no announced PC release date.
Pre-orders are available now both physically at major retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart) and digitally via the PlayStation Store.
have
Insomniac Games has officially confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will not have a Collector’s Edition. Unlike Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which featured an impressive statue-filled Collector’s Edition, this title focuses solely on two digital/physical offerings: the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition.
In response to fan inquiries, the studio stated: “Marvel’s Wolverine will not have a Collector’s Edition. We will offer a Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.”
While concept art of dream editions (complete with Wolverine statues on Sentinel heads, wearable claws, and custom controllers) has circulated online, none of these are real products. Fans disappointed by the lack of physical collectibles will have to rely on third-party merchandise instead.
edition
The Standard Edition is the base version of the game and is available in both disc and digital formats.
What’s Included:
- Full Marvel’s Wolverine digital or physical game
- All pre-order bonuses (if pre-ordered)
Pre-Order Bonuses (Available with Any Edition): Pre-ordering any version grants these early unlocks and extras:
- Early Access Suit: Classic Brown Suit — Logan’s iconic brown-and-tan comic-accurate look, available from the beginning instead of unlocking later.
- Early Access Claws: Reflective Claws — A shiny, metallic variant perfect for those who want extra flair during brutal combos.
- 1 Additional Technique Point — Gives you a head start on the skill tree, allowing earlier access to powerful abilities and upgrades.
- 4 PlayStation Avatars — Exclusive profile avatars featuring Wolverine, Jean Grey, Sabretooth, and Mystique.
These bonuses help players dive straight into the Wolverine fantasy without waiting for progression unlocks.
The Standard Edition is perfect for most fans who want the core story and gameplay experience without extra cosmetics.
deluxe
The Digital Deluxe Edition is the premium offering, available exclusively through the PlayStation Store. It costs $10 more than the Standard Edition and includes everything in the base game plus substantial cosmetic and progression extras.
What’s Included:
- Full Marvel’s Wolverine digital game
- All Pre-Order Bonuses (listed above)
- 5 Exclusive Suits:
- Incredible Suit
- Savage Suit
- Age of Apocalypse Suit
- Night Hunt Suit
- New Leather Suit
- 5 Exclusive Claws:
- Smooth-Edged Claws
- Hollow Blade Claws
- Serrated Spine Claws
- Tapered Claws
- Thick Claws
- 3 Additional Technique Points (on top of the pre-order bonus point)
These suits and claws are purely cosmetic but offer incredible variety for players who love customizing Logan’s look. The Age of Apocalypse suit, for example, taps into one of the most iconic alternate timelines in X-Men history, while the Savage and Night Hunt variants lean into darker, more primal aesthetics.
The extra Technique Points provide a meaningful gameplay advantage, letting you unlock high-tier abilities faster in the early hours of the campaign.
Digital Deluxe Upgrade Option: If you purchase the Standard Edition first, you can later upgrade to Digital Deluxe for the difference in price to access the exclusive content.
reveal
The latest trailer showcased Logan investigating mysterious threats while battling cybernetic Reavers. Combat looks incredibly satisfying — with brutal finishers, wall-running attacks, and devastating Rage explosions. The game emphasizes choice in traversal and combat approaches, blending stealth, raw aggression, and environmental destruction.
Insomniac’s signature attention to detail is evident: dynamic weather affecting claw strikes, destructible environments, and emotional storytelling moments involving Jean Grey and other mutants.
huh
Pre-ordering guarantees the early unlocks, which enhance your first playthrough. The Classic Brown Suit and Reflective Claws are particularly popular among comic purists. With the game launching in September, locking in your copy now also avoids potential launch-day stock shortages for physical editions.
fin
While the absence of a Collector’s Edition may disappoint statue collectors, the Digital Deluxe Edition delivers strong value for $10 extra with its suite of exclusive cosmetics and skill boosts. Insomniac continues to deliver high-quality single-player experiences, and Marvel’s Wolverine looks poised to be one of the biggest PS5 exclusives of 2026.
