DRIFT

Six pairs of laces, baby-blue debut-album accents, and a house-shaped eyelet: BOYNEXTDOOR’s first shoe collab arrive April 2027, with pre-orders starting August 21.

It is not every day that a K-pop group’s debut album hue becomes the defining accent on a shoe that has been in production for over a century. But BOYNEXTDOOR, the six-member act under KOZ Entertainment, has done exactly that. Their upcoming connection with atmos pink and CONVERSE takes the iconic All Star hi-top and injects it with a shade of baby blue that fans will recognise immediately from the cover of their first single album, Who!.

The shoe itself is built on CONVERSE’s classic black canvas high-top, a sil that has served as a blank canvas for countless collides over the decades. What sets this pair apart is the careful integration of BOYNEXTDOOR’s visual identity. The baby blue appears on the ankle patch star, the shoe laces, the outsole, and the heel label, creating a cohesive palette that feels both fresh and nostalgic. It is a restrained approach, one that lets the tint do the heavy lift without overwhelming the shoe’s original character.

The most personal detail, however, lies in the laces. The collide includes six different pairs of shoelaces, each printed with the name of a member: Jaehyun, Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak. This allows the wearer to customise the high-top to represent their favourite member, or to mix and match for a more eclectic look. It is a thoughtful gesture that turns a functional component into a statement of fandom, acknowledging the individual identities within the group while celebrating the collective.

Beyond the laces, the sneaker includes a subtle “house” icon on the top eyelet. For fans who have followed BOYNEXTDOOR since their debut in May 2023, this symbol carries significant weight. The house motif has been a recurring visual in the group’s branding, appearing in logo motion videos and album artwork. It represents not just a physical dwelling, but a place of comfort, belonging, and sanctuary—a concept the group explored in depth with their first full-length album, Home, rel in June 2026. Jaehyun, the group’s leader, described the album as a journey where “the long journey of searching for our home eventually comes together through our fans.” Placing the house icon on a sneaker turns a piece of footwear into a wearable emblem of that connection. The insole features a triple-branded logo, solidifying the collaboration between the K-pop group, the women’s streetwear-focused atmos pink, and the heritage footwear brand CONVERSE.

The choice of baby blue is not arbitrary. It is a direct reference to the cover of BOYNEXTDOOR’s debut single album Who!, a visual that has become synonymous with the group’s early identity. By threading that colour through the outsole, heel label, and ankle patch, the collaboration creates a visual through-line that fans can trace back to the group’s origins. It is a subtle nod, but one that adds depth to what could have been a straightforward branding exercise.

The “house” icon on the top eyelet is another such detail. While its exact meaning is known primarily to fans, it functions as a small Easter egg, rewarding those who pay close attention. This symbol has appeared in the group’s logo designs across multiple releases, often “hidden” within the team logo for fans to discover. The Korea Herald noted that the house is “one of the objects that symbolize BOYNEXTDOOR.” These are the kinds of details that distinguish a meaningful collaboration from a mere co-branding effort, and they suggest that both BOYNEXTDOOR and atmos pink took the time to understand what makes each other’s audiences tick.

The collaboration also taps into the broader culture conversation around K-pop and streetwear, two worlds that have become increasingly intertwined over the past decade. CONVERSE itself has a long history of working with musicians, from the Ramones to Tyler, the Creator, making this partnership a natural fit. The brand’s willingness to let atmos pink and BOYNEXTDOOR take the lead on design speaks to a broader shift in how heritage brands approach collaborations—less about logo placement and more about storytelling.

The collaboration extends beyond footwear. atmos pink and BOYNEXTDOOR have also designed a vintage-wash zip-up hoodie and a graphic t-shirt. The hoodie features a large patchwork embroidery of the group’s logo on the back, with eyelets and rivets as accents on the front, and a semi-rubber print on the left cuff for a streetwear finish. The t-shirt combines semi-rubber and glitter prints for a three-dimensional effect, incorporating member birthdays, initials, and catchphrases into the design. These are the kinds of details that make apparel feel like an extension of the group’s identity rather than generic merchandise.

atmos, the Tokyo-based sneaker boutique that launched atmos pink as a women’s-focused sub-brand, has built a reputation for collaborations that blur the lines between fashion, music, and youth culture. Their previous work with CONVERSE includes the “Animal Print” pack and the “Sakura” collection, both of which sold out instantly. This new partnership with BOYNEXTDOOR feels like a natural progression, marrying atmos‘s streetwear credibility with the global pull of K-pop.

The footwear and apparel collection will be available for pre-order starting August 21, 2026, exclusively through the atmos online shop, with the pre-order window running until October 11, 2026. A general release is scheduled for April 2027 at atmos pink stores and online. A pop-up event is also planned to celebrate the launch, though specific dates and locations have yet to be announced.

The house motif is more than just a design choice; it is a cornerstone of BOYNEXTDOOR’s identity. When the group revealed their fandom name, “ONEDOOR,” in October 2023, they released a logo motion video where a house floats freely, and a key emerges from the door. The imagery was intentional: the door represents the connection between the group and their fans. As Sungho explained regarding the group’s full-length album, “House refers to the form of a home, while ‘HOME’ carries the meaning of a sanctuary where one lives with family.” That same sanctuary-like quality is now embedded in a sneaker.

For a group that debuted in May 2023 under KOZ Entertainment, the label founded by Zico, BOYNEXTDOOR has cultivated a distinct visual language. Their logo designs have been described as consistently stylish, making them a “logo hotspot” for fans. The hidden house symbol within their team logos adds an element of discovery, rewarding fans who look closely. Translating that into a sneaker collaboration feels like a natural extension of their brand—one that turns a piece of footwear into a conversation starter and a symbol of belonging.

The connection between K-pop groups and shoe culture is not new. BTS has collaborated with FILA and Puma, BLACKPINK has worked with Adidas, and NewJeans recently partnered with Nike. What sets this BOYNEXTDOOR collaboration apart is the level of personalisation—the six individual laces, the house icon, the direct reference to a specific album colour. It feels less like a mass-market tie-in and more like a gift for the fans who have been there since day one.

The decision to anchor the shoe tincture palette in the debut album’s baby blue is a strategic nod to nostalgia. For fans who have been with the group since day one, the colour evokes memories of the Who! era—the excitement of a new boy group entering the scene, the three title tracks (“But I Like You,” “One and Only,” and “Serenade”), and the beginning of a journey that has since produced multiple EPs and a full-length album. By tying the sneaker to that moment, the collaboration becomes a keepsake as much as a fashion item.

atmos pink, the women’s shoe select shop born from the Tokyo-based atmos, targets the Gen-Z female demographic aged 16 to 29. With a concept rooted in “Pink’s Street” as a blend of music, art, dance, and sports the brand sits at the intersection of street culture and self-expression. Partnering with BOYNEXTDOOR, a group that embodies youthful energy and authenticity, feels like a natural alignment. The connection also adds to CONVERSE‘s legacy of working with music acts, a tradition that stretches back decades.

The pre-order structure, with an extended window from August to October and a general rel slated for April 2027, suggests a careful rollout. It gives fans ample time to secure their pairs while building anticipation for the wider release. The planned pop-up event will likely generate additional buzz, offering fans a physical space to engage with the collection.

For now, the collide stands as a promising intersection of K-pop fandom, streetwear curation, and heritage footwear. It is a release that feels personal, visually coherent, and attuned to the details that matter most to the people who will wear it. Either you are a dedicated fan of BOYNEXTDOOR, a collector of atmos collision, or simply someone who appreciates a well-executed sneaker, this one is worth watching.
